I started Uncharted 2 recently. I'm not that far into it. Based on the rave reviews I can only assume it gets much better. So far it's good, but not great.

Played some Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare last night with a friend. Started a new playthrough of the regular story today. First time playing it on my 27" HD monitor too.

I basically echoed your sentiments but every one of those things gets better the more you play it. iT started out as one of my least favourite DS games, but soon enough rocketed to the top.

I understand about not liking the combat and visuals, but Neku being a jackass in the beginning is the point of his character development over the game's three weeks and is basically what the title is about.

inFamous 2

Grabbed a handful of trophies yesterday, putting me at around 83% for trophy completion. Game is still great fun on its own. Launching off of ice towers and flying with around using the static thrusters just feels so right in terms of being a superhero. It's just too bad how for a game called inFamous, the actual Infamous evil path is so inferior to the Hero path.

Spoilers:
Nix's powers just suck compared to Kuo's. Ice Launch trumps Firebird strike anyday. I mean, why launch us forward if we just lose all momentum at the end of the dash anyways?

The problem is that the jackass angsty adolescent protagonist has been done to death in jRPGs and is something that becomes even less interesting when you get a bit older yourself. I'm willing to suffer through it if the rest of the game is good, but in this case, it wasn't, or at least not for me.

Devil Survivor's gameplay fits me like a glove, however. Along with Fire Emblem it's pretty much the last decent strategy jRPG series out there.

I found the combat system in TWEWY to be the greatest combat system in any game ever. Well, it's second to Kingdom Hearts II. Square Enix knows how to make incredibly fun combat systems.

In fact, I enjoyed TWEWY so much, I actually sat and 100%ed it, which is incredibly difficult and time consuming. And Fire Emblem has been waning ever since their peak with Path of Radiance. One might say that FE5 (I think that was the one that everyone loved) was the greatest, but I have yet to play it. Out of the ones I've played:

FE9 > FE6 > FE7 > FE8 > FE10 > FE11
