I disagree; but on release I actually wrote a very negative review of L4D because it was a repackaged and modified version of the zombie mod for the then popular Counterstrike: Source, but it wasn't my only criticsms. 2 didn't do much to the original, as well.

I liked Dead Rising for one playthrough, but it got tedious and boring afterward. Same for 2.

So I got Fable 3 and Silent Hill Origins in the mail today. I only need Silent Hill Homecoming and Silent Hill Shattered Memories to complete my collection.

Fable 3 was disappointing. But I'd gotten used to that with that series.

I bought Fable 2 and didn't like it very much. But I got Fable 3 for free, so I'm not complaining.

2 was probably the best one. Fable 3 is awful compared to the first two.

Coughed up $24 bucks to get the first four Crash Bandicoot games from PSN.

Crash Bandicoot - Good lord. I had no idea the first one was so ruthless, but it's still fun to play. I grew up on the second entry and loved it but there are just so many limits on CB that really weigh it down having played 2 and 3 first:

    - Save only available through one of the bonus rounds (if you get all three icons and survive) or by collecting a gem. Only one chance at those bonus rounds per level attempt.

    - Gems are much harder to collect since dying once and starting from a checkpoint puts back all the boxes broken from before said checkpoint.

    - No analog control patched into the digital version. D-Pad is okay for 2D sections, but 3D loses some direction with only four buttons compared to 360 degree movement of analog.

    - While generous with extra lives, it ends up rather pointless unless someone intends to play all the way through in one sitting since you never have more than 4 the next time you load your file.

    - Heavily linear in terms of stages. One order. One path.

I'm surprised in only a year's time they manage to pump out a sequel that surpasses its predecessor in nearly every way.

Crash Bandicoot 2 - I guess I was spoiled thanks to 2's stupendous gameplay, freedom, and new moves of sliding, high jumping, and belly flops. Almost every issue with CB1 is fixed in this sequel...almost. Still no analog control patched in, but CB has helped retrain me with movement on d-pads for 3D, and every other griping aspect being fixed more than makes up for it. Plus, it's just fun to play.

Crash Bandicoot: Warped - Still my favorite of the original three. With new locations and level types (underwater, jet skiing) to break the mold as well as a host of new features like special moves from defeated bosses and time trial relics, there's more than enough to satisfy any platformer fan's hunger.

Crash Team Racing - Only played through this once on a rental, but I remember enjoying it, both alone and with friends. Still the quirky kart racer I remember.

Funny how the two shared an almost identical fate:
    - Make 3 amazing games (4 for crash if you want to count CTR)
    - Hand over to a new developer
    - Watch as your childhood rolls down a never ending hill.

    Yes

No, please God kill it with fire.
