Alan Wake was a good game. Not worth replaying really, but I got it for $10, so I can't really complain.

    it's getting a reboot!

one of the most gory, most over the top, most awesomness shooters evar!

even though it's probably gonna be a disappointment like most reboots. It's going to have all the weapons from the original, probably just as much gore. the over the top jumppads, secrets. and even a mode in which you can use sound effects from the original!!

fun fact, the original is (at least last time i saw it, about a year ago) the game with the most cheats ever! it was also the first first person shooter in which you could jump. look up and down aaaand rocket jump
fun weapons like the flame wall, which shoots a rocket which makes a wall of flames as wide as the room. the drunk missile which shoots 12 missiles in completely random directions that keep moving around. excalibat which, well you can probably guess what that one is. Hand of god which blasts energyballs killing everthing. Dog mode in which you randomly turn into a dog. shrooms mode which, well you can guess that one as well i think.

    can't wait
Dammit, Jibby, you're supposed to be too young to remember ROTT! Weren't you like six when it came out?

Also, I don't know if you'd call them shooters per se, but System Shock and its predecessor Ultima Underworld were both first-person real time games that allowed you to jump (whenever you wanted to, not having to stand on a device) and look up and down.

Regardless, I'm also insanely psyched for a franchise reboot, and the update to the freeware Level 1 song (In the Thick of It) also just makes me ridiculously happy.

There is no QTE for Rayman Origins. On a related note, got the Platinum trophy for the game. Here's a piece of advice for trophy/achievement hunters on Rayman Origins: There is NO trophy or achievement for getting all the yellow ribbons (filling up the Lum bong completely in each stage.)

And in other related news, a Rayman Origins sequel is in the making: Rayman Legends.

I'm playing Arctic Adventures: Polar's Puzzles. I bought a few $1 RBN songs and needed to spend another $2 to get to the minimum load amount. I really could not find anything I wanted RB-wise, so I went to the Minis. I saw this (you may note I didn't look particularly long ) and saw it was a puzzle game with some cute graphics, for 2 bucks, so I said what the hell.

    This game is awesome!

You control a polar bear (the creatively named Polar) as you push blocks, step on switches, activate dynamite cubes (kaboom!) and try to find your way to the exits in some wintry landscapes. It's so addictively fun, let me tell you. And it gets progressively harder, too. There are 50 total puzzles - I've solved the first 11. The 11th one took me probably half an hour to figure out!

Each puzzle can award three stars -- one for figuring it out at all, one for doing it within a specified time span, and one for doing it within a specified number of moves. For the unsolved puzzles, Polar has a "hmmm" look on his face on the menu screen, with a pencil in his mouth. If you 1 or 2 star a puzzle, you get a face. If you 3 star it, you get a face, which I get a kick out of.

So there's not much to it, but for 2 bucks, forget about it! Hella worth 2 bucks.

So I maxed out my Chaos Rings II characters and have to say that it's still pretty damned addictive. At this point, I'm fleshing out the scenes I haven't played through yet, and then maybe doing a New Game +. As is, though, I'm pretty satisfied with my investment.

And yes, the plot is as insane as the other CR games.

I've also been playing The Act, a short arcadey game which can be beaten in half an hour. Imagine Dragon's Lair but for a short romantic comedy and you get the idea--you swipe your finger left or right to control how your character reacts in a specific situation, and adjust according to how your subject reacts. The animation is very smooth and charming, there's no dialogue, and the music's airy and jazzy and gets the job competently done. For the sale price of $1, it's worth the diversion. Even at $3 (its normal price) I think I'd have bought it.

i'm going to go play a lot of old retro games, here's what i have on my list so far:
    PC:
    Rise Of The Triad
    Doom
    Wolfenstein
    Wasteland

    SNES:
    Illusion of time
    Super Punch Out
    B.O.B

    PS1:
    Megaman Legends 2

those are just the first ones that popped up in my head. anyone have any recommendations?
(don't feel like doing FF, Mario, Zelda. let's just say i don't want to do the biggest games that are still getting new parts quite often).

340/400 Riddler trophies left, and really far into new game+ on Batman Arkham City and I got the Viki Vale glitch which stops the game from saving after that point. Screw you Batman.

I got all the Riddler Challenges on Asylum, but dang, the ones for City are hard.

Speaking of Arkham Asylum, I'm pretty close to getting all the achievements on there. Only have a few more of the achievements tied to getting Medals, and then the one for getting 100%.

Download and played the Cold Stream DLC for Left 4 Dead 2. If you enjoyed L4D, I recommend this big time. Probably the best L4D DLC so far, simply because it gives you the new map (which is fan made, and honestly, has some cool stuff that the Valve maps don't), plus 3 of the 4 maps from L4D1.
AsianSteev: if you can read this, put more Ska songs on the RBN! Please?
