Skyrim.
Warriors Orochi 3.
Super Street Fighter IV : Arcade Editon Ver. 2012.
I basically came back to L4D2 because of the Mutation update. Now I can play Last Man on Earth whenever I want. I have it on PC, so the DLC was free too.
Anyways, games:
Megaman X Collection - X1 and X2
Finally beat X1 after a sudden craving to play it after watching Egoraptor's Sequelitis for the 50th time. I kinda screwed up on X2 and didn't recover all of Zero's parts from the X-Hunters before fighting the last robot master. Think I'll just restart as I don't want to fight Zero like this, reanimated by a couple of jerks.
LA Noire
Finished all the story desks. What a great game indeed. I recognized two people's faces in the game:
Jon Cryer
Francis's friend from Malcolm in the Middle
And apparently the main character borrowed his face from Mad Men
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
Much better story mode and battles are much less formulaic compared to Generations, where all you do is deplete the opponent's four substitutions then combo like crazy.

Picked up Transformers: War for Cybertron and Rayman Origins today.
Haven't played Transformers yet, but Rayman is flippin' awesome. Everything about it is great.

Thank you HMX!
Gotten back into Fallout 3 after not playing it for a month or so, switched to Very Hard mode for s&g. Oh god. So hard. I flee back to my house to heal after maybe two enemies.

So I just beat Dead Space 2.
Huh. There's both a lot to say about it and nothing to say at all.
I've always maintained that the original Dead Space couldn't scare anyone older than 5, but for some reason, it wasn't actually bad. Yes, the narrative was awful, the main character uninteresting, the scares laughable, and the cliches rampant, but the gameplay was so by the book and competent, that it created a strange "decent" singularity that I couldn't hate no matter how much I mocked it. This feeling only intensified in the sequel with every aspect I found bad from the original to be worse as well as more issues added on. But even with it's issues, Dead Space 2 manages to match the original with the intent behind it. Everything about the game feels as if the devs took note of every complaint the original had and tried to stomp them. Unfortunately, they took the complaints at face value, but the effort is there and I'm all for it. The game feels like it's trying it's best to be good, and its spirit manages to save the game from being merely bad.
The biggest complaint addressed was the main character. They gave Isaac a voice and more face this time around, and while it's appreciated that they learned from their mistakes, they still haven't gotten what makes a main character interesting. Isaac's voice only spouts stupid reactions like "Oh ****" and "I must make sure these blades don't cut me so I can get across". Nothing he says even resembles a reasoning and emotional human being, and his apparent horror of his situation is the complete opposite of my own indifference to the atmosphere. Hell, I would go as far as saying that removing him being mute made him LESS of an interesting character, since before it was like 'How can he stay so calm during a situation like this?!?' and even though the game tried to make us feel sorry for him, it made him SOMEWHAT interesting. That feeling is gone now.
The next point addressed is the lack of variety in environments and enemies. While I do applaud their efforts, nothing about the ship felt scary or even spooky. The enemies, while having a great variety, had a bit too many baby/child enemies (1 was fine, but 3?!? That's just pushing it). I'm all for artistic freedom, but when there's no reason to besides "there were kids on that ship", it just feels nonclassy.
Lastly, the Zero Gravity sections became jetpack sections. That was awesome.
As a story, Dead Space 2 doesn't deliver compared to the original and just passes by you. Tiedman is a very confusing antagonist, and his motivations feel incredibly stupid for 98% of the game. In a series where every character has hidden motives or are completely crazy, this is understandable, but instead of building up to an intense boss fight, his actions just make you say "this guy can't be this stupid".
Speaking of boss fights, I think this game had like 1. Well, there was the Tormentor, but I didn't count that arm grabby thing from the original as a boss fight, so I won't count the Tormentor as one either. In a series unbounded by things such as realism, imaginative boss fights are key to a memorable experience.
The shooting itself is extraordinarily average with the same by the book approach the original had. It's so inoffensive that its averageness warps into decency and actual enjoyment. And Isaac is still as overpowered in this game than he was in the original. I played the original on Normal difficulty using only the Plasma Cutter and pretty much flattened everything in my path. In this game I played on Survivor Difficulty using the Plasma Cutter, and while I had some frustration at some parts, Isaac was never in a position where I felt that I had no hope for survival.
What I like about Dead Space is it's desperation to be taken seriously. It tries so hard to be dark and horrifying, but the gore comes across as stupid (seriously, Isaac explodes if an enemy pretty much sneezes on him) and the scares nonexistent (they're not even cheap anymore! They're just NOT there!) and it's pretty much a riot to see the game fail so hard at its primary objective.
While I might seem to hate the series, I do actually like it a fair amount. The universe that the series exists in is very fascinating and the mythology of it all is just too much to pass up. I just can't feel the games could get any good if my enjoyment of it is pretty much how much I had fun making fun of it.

Ahhh Skyrim. I still can't believe how long I have played you and how little I have done.
Still trying to beat these Dawnguard quests. As soon as I think it might be done its like nope.....now you gotta carry this jug of water to 5 shrines.
What?
It is really nice but it is also the darkest area I have seen in the game. I can still barely see with a candlelight spell going.
And I loved the entire Soul Carin before it too. Awesome stuff.
