played Fallout New Vegas yesterday. Man is that game ever huge... I'm only up to 14% on the trophies and so many side quests to do...

Played Borderlands 2. It's a good game so far. Ate a good chunk of my night.

Went back to Red Dead Redemption. I don't know where I got the idea that rampaging in RDR isn't as fun as in GTA. Yes, there is less going on, but the environment and random NPC encounters ake it more interesting.

Also had a bundle of fun unlocking all the outfits I never got.

Finished the main part of Super Mario 3D Land. And...it's pretty damn great!

Every level legitimately had something new to offer, a new challenge or gimmick to mix things up. This made the game flow beautifully, as while levels were bite sized, each level felt wholesome. This is basically the reason why people decry the New SMB games: for as New as they sound, they feel old already. Not a problem here, though. Almost every level was brilliantly designed. I think the only levels that were underwhelming were the ghost houses, which are among the worst of the franchise. Except for the final one, which was unnervingly perfect!

Only a few flaws, really. The game was pretty easy, all up. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I was swimming in lives by the end of the game. It almost made me wonder why coins and lives are in the game. But that's a nitpick. The next one is bigger.

That goddamn God Mode Tanooki. Why is it in the game again? I understand it was probably made to make the game more digestible for family audiences, BUT if the reception to the series thus far is any indication (Lost Levels excluded), they didn't even need that. Mario can always be enjoyed by anyone. That's part of what makes it one of the best franchises in gaming. With the God Mode Tanooki, or whatever it's called, they're catering to an audience which does not need catering to. The game could have, and has previously, worked fine without it.

Does that last line sound familiar to anyone?

Other than that, awesome. Not quite a system seller, but if you DO have a 3DS, no excuses. 9/10

I don't know why Nintendo keeps pushing these re-hashed, 2-D remakes of Mario on the Wii and Wii U. Mario 3-D Land proves that Nintendo needs to make a true successor to Mario 64. Mario Sunshine doesn't count.

Redownloaded Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie last night. My challenge for BK is to complete the game with the five honeycombs you start off with, and my challenge for BT is to collect every jiggy, since I completely skipped Grunty Industries on my last (incomplete) playthrough.

And somehow, I was able to reach Freezeezy Peak in about 90 minutes, collecting every note and jiggy along the way.

The Old Republic. I got 50 on my scoundrel a few nights ago, and I'm enjoying the heck out of hard mode flashpoints now.
