Both are good songs. She's leaving home is a sadder song but i think eleanor rigby is a better song.

"If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian.”-Paul McCartney
I would have to go with She's leaving home. More beautiful and and the orchestra is great.
Toughest pairing of songs ever

That's a close one, but I'd give the edge to Eleanor Rigby on the basis of the imagery of the lyrics.
"Wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door" might be one of the better lines Paul ever wrote.
The entire song is really economical both musically and lyrically, but has a powerful punch. "She's Leaving Home" is more lush but also a just a little bit cloying.
No Springsteen? Huh. Surely there's some Kinks? Santana? Pink Floyd? I get it: less classic, more modern. Like The Arcade Fire or Ryan Adams?
Music wise i like Eleanor better. But story wise, that's She's Leaving Home takes the victory
Reporter: Is Ringo the best drummer in the world?
John Lennon: Ringo isn't even the best drummer in The Beatles.
"Eleanor Rigby" by a mile. "She's Leaving Home" has always sounded, to me, like a vain attempt to recapture the Rigby magic... and, yes, it's definitely a tad cloying.
She's Leaving Home. Better Orchestra. Better Story. And I prefer harmonies with Paul and John then just Paul and Paul.
She's Leaving Home without a doubt! Definitely one of my 15 favorite Beatles songs.
