    Hello,

You can add the Yamaha DTX500K as well. It does requires a few remaps in the drum controller, and a ride/crash switch, but after those simple tweaks its running great.

Today i've tried on my X360 the midi pro adapter for the first time on my Medeli DD506 (Drums) and it works perfectly . Initially i've had some double hits problems but it was easy fix it the problem was in my brain module i must only fix the sensitivity (i've set kick pedal on E16,all red, green, blue and yelow pads on E10 and crash, ride and hi-hat on E08 and the drum is a beast on pro mode XD ),while for the rest there's need of leave all how is wrote on the midi pro adapter manual, trigger midi numbers for example must be how is wrote on the manual because if changes something of numbers, the drum don't work on the game, but don't worry because when you put the adapter in the drums it will set automatically midi trigger numbers for Rock Band worry only of sensitivity (follow numbers that i've put in my module for play well ). So add this too drums on list because this isn't Session Pro DD506 because the brain drum module is completely different i hope help you and sorry for my english XD XD XD

Is anybody using a "real" MIDI guitar such as the EPIPHONE LES PAUL ULTRA III ME?
This one has a usb output, so would it be necessary to route it into a usb-2-midi box, then to the mac catz adapter, then to ps3?

I don't know about the Ultra III ME in particular, but most MIDI guitars don't transmit correct information for the MIDI Pro Adapter. I believe I've read that some guitars can be configured or hacked to at least transmit correct fret and string information when notes are played, but ideally the guitar should also be able to communicate where your fingers are on the fretboard even when you're not actually playing. Besides the official Mustang and Squier, the only other guitar that has that has been made to work this way is the You Rock Guitar.
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!

All a MIDI drum kit has to be able to do is output, via MIDI cable, the correct MIDI notes that the Mad Catz MIDI Pro adapter is looking for.

In your case, the answer is yes.
