Where do you live ludist? I know a best buy in my area (Ottawa) has a full pro drums set for PS3.

Also, anyone know where I can get a Squier? Or is this the wrong thread since the Squier is by Fender?

There's a mammoth thread on Squier availability here, started basically because Fender seemingly only made one or two small production runs of the instrument. Best Buy ran out of them completely a month or two ago (and stopped offering them online before that). Now you can find one for about twice the list from a couple of "Marketplace" sellers on the US Amazon site who probably won't ship to Canada. There are several available on eBay, also for high prices, though possibly for significantly less than the Amazon sellers.

Hello Harmonix and Mad Catz, as well as other forum people. I am the leader of one of three RB bands consisting of up to twelve people who have amassed almost $4000 investment in this game, DLC, and accessories. To sum up our group's sentiment in one word towards Harmonix, Mad Catz, Fender, and supposed retailers of the game and peripherals, it is DISGUSTED. It is at a point where some of our members are turning to Rocksmith because of lack of support, lack of hardware, lack of information, and a lack of belief in continued existance of the RB game . We have been loyal RB followers for over 2 years and still we cannot get what we want. NONE of the local retailers listed by Mad Catz or Fender carry the hardware we want and need. I have spent 2 days of my time yet again in the past week looking for Midi controllers, Squire guitars, Mustang guitars, Pro cymbal replacements (because the Mad Catz junk does not stand up to rockin) only to come away with all my money still in my wallet. The Fender stores do not show that the Squire controller exists. The local Best Buy store says that they have had orders for Mad Catz hardware outstanding for months. One store employee told me that I would probably receive a real Unicorn if ordered before I would receive a Mustang Guitar. Future Shop does not show the Squire controller even exists yet they sell hundreds of other Fender guitars. Please please tell me soon where I can find a Squire guitar, Midi controller, cymbals, and someone who really knows what is going on with this game. I have read pages and pages today of lots of PR bunk. Yet here we are a year later and the situation is worse than before. LocationL Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I also have a small fortune in RB gear and DLC like a lot of the people here. With all the hardware, (Squier, multiple Wooden Strats, keyboard, drums, etc.) and all the lighting gear, (aftermarket stuff that they use in discos and dance halls) and DLC I've bought I'm sure I'm near the $5000.00 mark myself. One thing I do know is that even though there has been no indication of another RB title, RB3 will go on even if they don't release another track. They still make the hardware and unless someone starts breaking into houses and repo-ing it you'll keep your copy of 3. They also just released RB3 as an On-Demand game so you don't have to worry about the disc if it ever gets destroyed. They have said they'll keep releasing DLC and Pro tracks into the foreseeable future.

Nobody can find a Squier because they are sold out and have been since mid October last year. Production is not likely to be restarted. The only ones left are on Ebay and/or being sold through third party retailers on Amazon and other locations for far more that the original retail price. They launched last Feb, (if memory serves) and that's when you should have been looking for them. Right after Christmas nobody is going to have anything left, little lone the hardest piece of RB kit to find ever made.

I shipped a total of 15 Squiers to people outside the U.S. for $20.00 over cost for a little over three months, and did that until stock sold out. Nobody can get them now in the U.S. or elsewhere, so you're not alone. They are GONE.

The Mustang, Midi-Pro and most other RB gear could be bought at Amazon for very little $ last week after the holidays due to sale prices. The MP was selling for $15.00 for either version and the Mustang was going for $35.00 for the 360 and PS3 versions. They are back up to the normal prices now though.

Here's a link to Amazons page on the 'Stang...

And the MP is in stock but also back to the normal $35.00 range...

The Gameshark store also has both items in stock and is offering free shipping on some items as well. They also, (along with Amazon) usually have anything you're looking for with regards to RB hardware including cymbals. Here's the link for Gameshark...

As far as cymbals from another company I can't help there because I've had the same set of MC cymbals for two years now and have never destroyed them. Both of the above retailers carry the MC versions of them if you want to replace them.

If you want something different some of the drum guys can help with that, but I believe it will require a lot of $ to switch to another brand of drums altogether.

    Happy hunting.

Love to use the stage kit and all my other lighting items while I play. See my thread on lighting in the dlcquickplay.com forums.

    Steve,
Thanks for the reply. I guess I am old school when dishing out money for gear. I like to have it in my hand before purchase to determine its quality and durability. This has been especially punctuated by the receipt of the first RB gear that we found to be small (of course for the kids) and cheaply built. I personally have broken 3 guitars literally ripping the neck off of one of them. Regardless, for us to continue enjoying RB3 it appears we will need to purchase gear online and pay extorsion levels for shipping. For instance, the last item I purchased cost more to ship than it did to buy. Well, I guess that is the price for living in a northern frontier outpost.
Too bad about the Squire. Its lack of availability puts me and my other guitarists in a quandry. We have outgrown the regular guitar mode in RB and the cheap plastic basic guitars. Do we purchase a MC Mustangs or real guitars at this point (rhetorical)? The good guitarists that play in these groups are iching to take it to the next level and learn real guitar. However, we love RB. We have looked every month at the local stores for the past year to try and get good gear but to no avail.
I have lost 1 really good guitarist to Rocksmith already because of the lack of hardware availability here. He says he is never coming back to RB as he is enjoying the reality of Rocksmith. With Rocksmith preparing to release for more instruments and RB/Mad Catz/Fender not producing real guitars for simulation and interface then the quandry may be an easy answer.
It seems a waste of investment for us to change to Rocksmith at this time but when you hit the end of the line, what else is there? Putting more money into a dead end platform does not seem right. I just cannot believe that with all of the demand for better hardware out there that the powers that be are not or will not supply. Seems like a losing battle to me.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about purchasing the cymbal 3 pack for the Drum Rockers but the only place
I can find them is Rockband Parts. From what I remember of past readings, their service seemed hit and miss. If anyone could pass on their experiences, it would be appreciated.

So this thread is, like, you come here and say what instruments you are looking for? Because I am looking for drums. I need them to be sold in Canada too, and they've been out of stock on Gameshark Canada forever. Help me!

Check out store.gameshark.com. They generally have the cymbal pack available, and if you hurry and order them tonight, you can get free shipping!
