Haven't even finished the album, but Dream Affair is doing the 80's new wave worship really well.

So it seems the new Gorguts album is delayed until early next year because of label issues. My anticipation for this album is going to be insanely high by the time it's released.

Has anyone heard the debut from the "indie"-supergroup Mister Heavenly? Consists of members from The Unicorns, Man Man and Modest Mouse. Some of it is really good (Bronx Sniper, Reggae Pie), some of it... not so much.
Worth listening to though, album's called Out Of Love.

Assuming that's the same song from NPR, they really need to get some new tricks. That ethereal female vocalist thing was fun the first couple times they did it, but they're starting to abuse it.

I wish they had more of the fem vox. They're great.

They play a completely different style when they use the fem vox, that's part of what frustrates me. I understand what they're going for, but so far they've been unable to incorporate that style and their more typical style into the same work. Even when they have both fem vox and screams in the same song, the song is essentially chopped into two different movements. I'd like to see them blend the female vocals with their more malevolent songs, rather than just alternating between the two.
Though this track doesn't really make sense outside of the full album anyway, so I'll have to wait and see. I get a feeling this will hold a similar place to "Dea Artio" in the assembly of the total album.
