To say nothing about trying to use 512MB of flash memory + maybe an SD card to store downloadable songs.

Everything Rock Band does is something the Wii can't really handle. I'm sure potential WiiU releases will be alright for a bit, until games are being developed for the Xbox 3, unless it barely makes any processing leaps.

The Wii is perfectly capable of storing 32GB of RB DLC!!! I have a 16GB card that I don't see ever filling up!

That doesn't compare well to the 120GB drive in my PS3. I'm genuinely not looking down on the Wii, I have one, it's just that it's the least good console for Rock Band. As has been stated ad nauseam in this thread already.

GOD the PS360 kids are thick headed! One mentions graphical power for a game that doesn't use, need or require it. In fact being able to turn off some of the graphics would be welcome. Others brag of their harddrives when a 32g sdhc card will hold 1500 songs. If you have more than that, it should be no problem to get a second card and move some of your lesser played songs to it. These aren't the issue or complaint or problem. IMPORTS & PATCHES Let's start with imports. Leading up to 10/26/10 all indications said all discs would import[NOT BEATLES]. In fact if you click on RB3 on this site NOW it still says this. It does not say select consoles or PS360 only or Wii excluded or anything to indicate that it is not true for us. Wii are mad about it. False advertising. Now patches= You spend 2 years making a game. You test to make sure it runs as it is supposed to. After releasing it unnoticed problems arise. [Think car recalls] If you know for sure that 30% of your cars can't be recalled, you better make damn sure that you have tested those cars, thoroughly. You could always delay the release, like RB & RB2 were, but your competition is releasing their new car and you gotta make the holiday deadline. Then you blame the Wii for not letting you recall the not sufficiently tested car you put out. You already knew this, but you did it anyways. This is the reason 50% of Americans buy foreign cars now. You throw out a badly tested car and think 'meh we got your money, what you gonna do'. Unfortunately for us Wii folk, nobody else sells cars but HMX now. AND WE NEED A CAR!

If you can see something on your TV, that is graphical power. Also, it's fairly synonymous with processing power, which Rock Band very much does need, to run a background, audio, and charts without any falling out of sync.
In fact being able to turn off some of the graphics would be welcome.
Punchline: the Wii DOES turn off characters when you play online because it's too intensive for the system.

Anyway, blah blah blah, wall of text that says nothing but how you thought RB3 would magically do things that it can't on the Wii, and how you like to pretend the Wii audience is big enough to justify a disc replacement.

There's a lot of things the Wii can do. What it can't do is keep up with a game that requires tons of processing power and an influx of downloadable items. This is not new, and if you ever thought otherwise, you have no one to blame but yourself.

'wall of text' huh? It's actually called a paragraph. A sentence is a thought. A collection of related thoughts is a paragraph. This used to be taught in school back in the past when school was for learning and not for babysitting.
Wii weren't expecting 'magic', just what was alluded to in the pre-game hype. Let me put it this way: Say the PS360 people buy a guitar. One of the buttons on that guitar doesn't work correctly and was designed that way. Or at minimum not tested to make sure it worked as expected. There is NO way to return or fix that guitar. Would you feel jipped? Then the maker of that guitar blames the amp because it can't play the sound from that broken untested button. The response is 'you should've bought a more powerful amp'. But wait, Wii've spent 1000's on this guitar that you said would work with this amp. Then the broken guitar maker just shrugs their shoulders and says 'better luck next time'. This is not a good business model. Look what happened to the other 'guitar' maker. They put out broken untested guitars[actually drums], it cost them a fortune to fix the broken button, alot of the costomers were disenfranchised, sales dropped massively and now they don't make guitars for ANY amp.

The Wii doesn't even let you fill that 32 GB SD Card. The game only lets you hold 1000 songs on it.

It doesn't matter how much you spent. If you bought Rock Band 1 and LEGO Rock Band, you should have known they wouldn't export. Same with Green Day: Rock Band, which I'm surprised actually does export (maybe they planned ahead and took care of the licensing alongside the other consoles, maybe it was easier to get the rights to just one band). At this point, it's clear that Harmonix have more important things that benefit far more players than exporting years-old games for the least popular console for DLC.

Well since it is being brought up again...
I have a Wii, I bought RB1 on a whim because I had played GH2 at a buddies house and thought it was cool, I had not had a console since my Xbox first gen died and just wasn't paying attention to games for a few years. So I really knew nothing about the differences shall we say, I was just stoked they made it for my Wii. Played mostly on the Wii until several months after I bought RB 2 and had purchased a bunch of DLC and more instruments.

I started playing RB2 on Xbox at a buddies house and I noticed the graphics were fantastic and that he had exported RB1 and AC/DC into it. Wasn't a game breaker though, The Wii was catching up on DLC so I had a ton of new stuff and I don't care about the graphics as much as most people seem to.
Since the instruments play the same, the sound is great and I still have as much fun, no worries, rock on.

Then I hear Rock Band 3 is coming out. The Nintendo website through the stock blurb for the game kind of infers that their version will do all the same exports on RB 3. Awesome! Can't wait. Continues to buy a lot of DLC, buys a couple more instruments for the Wii. RB 3 comes out! Wait, what ...no RB1 or AC/DC export (didn't buy Lego) for Wii? Not much is said really about it, just kind of stagnates for awhile. I contact support, they are friendly and tell me that they really couldn't tell me anything, that it was not immediately being addressed, but if it is we'll certainly be informed about it. Cool, they know. Much time passes, it becomes painfully clear that it is really not a priority, if even possible or if it just does not make fiscal sense.

I deal with it since after all I did not commission the game and owning a Wii was my choice. HMX and Nintendo provided me with a product I willingly purchased and they really don't have to tell me anything, though I do wish the export thing was dealt with a little more up front pre-launch because the questions were asked in the forum.
All of that said…If I would have done the due diligence and researched my purchase like I have my whole life in regards to any electronics (well except of course here, stupid me) I would have made a different choice of consoles and wouldn’t be somewhere of the area of $2000 into this and too far to turn back. Fact remains I bought it, no one forced me and I am ok with all the above. It is still the best damn game I have ever owned and I will continue to support the franchise. Rawr.

Finally someone who knows exactly the frustration! The WHOLE issue is the way Wii were led to believe that imports would be happening[Remember it STILL says this on this sites AD]. FULL imports not LIMITED to PS360 players only. SirTwinpeaks says Wii shouldn't have expected RB to import when we bought it. Absolute balderdash! NOONE on any console would have expected that because importing wasn't even invented yet! And who even knew there would be a second and other games to follow. Not even HMX. It is then said that Wii importing isn't a priority because Wii DLC sales are the lowest. Importing and DLC are two seperate and very different animals that do not have ANYTHING to do with each other. The excuse from HMX is the hardest pill to swallow. Licensing. As if, when buying the license from Band X to use their song, there are 3 seperate contracts[1 for each console]. And Band X says 'We don't want the Wii players to have our song moved into another game, just those PS360 guys'. Wii did our 'due diligence' by trusting what was hyped by the maker of the product. If you buy something day 1, there is no other way to know any different! And keep in mind, back when GH was importing 30%, how HMX was bragging about how they thought ahead and licensed as a platform, not just a game.
