Good news:
- It was way fun. I played for several hours without really realizing it
- I never got bored and never played the same song twice
- It was challenging
- It made my hand hurt
Bad news:
- It was GH:WoR

This is not a "RB3 sucks, GH is awesome" thread, this is a "For those of you who enjoy RB3, but want more of a challenge, you should try opening your mind to GH:WoR because it doesn't suck as much as it seems.
The reason I post this here is because after playing the new GH game, I've gained an interesting perspective on RB3.

I am a long time RB supporter. I pre-ordered RB1. I played RB2, like, every day for two years. Fun stuff. I was crazy excited when keys were announced, and I love the addition of that peripheral.

In an attempt to keep this focused on Rock Band, since this is the Rock Band forum, I'll say it like this:
Rock Band doesn't have incredibly challenging songs for 5-button guitar. There hasn't been a song for 5BG (can I call it that? 5BG?) that I've been like "Can I pass this? Holy crap that was hard, and this song sounds great!". And it's not like I need crazy freak out songs, but where is the challenge? When I was playing RB3, I wasn't saying "I need hard songs with responsive hammer-ons", but when they were presented to me, they felt great.
Let me summarize, in "IF, IF, IF, THEN" form:
IF you have RB3 and think it's fun,
IF you liked playing the harder RB2 songs,
IF you can't spend more than 2 hours on RB3 by yourself without getting bored,
THEN you should maybe think about expanding your music game library.
On the other hand:
IF you are a crazy die-hard RB fan who can't accept anything else,
IF you think buying GH means NOT playing RB,
IF you are protesting Activision in any way (understandable),
THEN you can ignore this thread
