Help! My drums don't work!

I got the game for Christmas but only used the drums for the first time today. The Blue drum pad works sometimes and not others. Sometimes if I bang it super hard it will work but usually it doesn't work at all. The rest of the drum pads work fine.
Can anyone help me?
