    Question Wii VS XBox360/PS3 Comparsion

I had the Wii version for over a year now and just recently got a PS3 so i decided to buy the PS3 version. Right off the bat, i struggled to keep a streak going, at first i thought i just didnt do a real good job calibrating it OR i didnt have component cables yet so the screen was really wide on my HDTV. As soon i bought the component cables the game fit the screen perfectly but i was still missing notes i came to 2 possible explanations. Either, my guitar (GH3 guitar...which i use for my Wii as well) had a problem OR the PS3/XBox360 version are much more precise. Do note (im not bragging) but im the #7 ranked guitarist on the Wii so i dont think its that i suck that bad. So for those that have played it on both the Wii and the PS3/Xbox can u guys confirm if indeed the PS3/XBox versions r more precise or maybe my guitar isnt working right. Thanks.

Using HD makes the game "lag". You obviously didn't have this problem on the Wii since it doesn't have HD. All you have to do is calibrate the game better. It's hard to get it perfect, but using a post-RB2 guitar helps since they have the auto-calibration feature in the guitar.

Thanks MostSpartan for ur response. I'll look for a RB guitar that i can purchase. Ive always bought a GH guitar cause they r cheaper. And i didnt know that the RB guitars had an auto calibration installed in them so ill definitely look into that and see if that solves my problem.

Would installing a SDD drive remove the lag in the PS3?

Also, can one use DLC on the Wii. I'm a little frustrated with PS3 freezing.

    Thank you.

Hd - High Def not Hard Drive

The wii isn't a high def console, and on some tv's that have high def resolution that can create lag.

Yeah the Wii can use DLC, but if you're switching consoles I highly recommend the 360 for full access to the Rock Band Network songs and al the contest Microsoft hosts for Harmonix and Rock Band.

I started on wii and played on there for 2 years, then recently switched over to xbox and wow what a difference it takes some time getting used to the game play on xbox after wii but after you get it down there is no comparison the xbox version rules, graphics, game play and the song selection make xbox the best for rock band games period.

My sister gave me a Wii and a 50" WEGA for helping her move.

If the wii is absolutely your only option to play RB then I guess you have to make do with what you got.

However I highly recommend you get a 360 if possible if you plan on playing and buying a lot of Rock Band.

The wii is the absolute last choice you want to use for a RB console.

It's great for Mario and Zelda and first person Nintendo games, but as a 3rd party (IE Rock Band) console it is utterly terrible.

Is the 360 that much better than the PS3? If I get it I need to replace my drum controller, get a different ProGuitar and purchase new Software, etc.

I play before I got to work, when I get home and most of the time on my days off.

Game play wise there isn't a lot of differences between the 360 and the PS3. Graphics, sound, play are all pretty comparable.

What the big difference between them is the Rock Band Network tracks. The 360 has full access to all the Rock Band Network songs as they are released, and the PS3 is limited to 5 a week. Some songs will never port over (and there's a large chunk of Rock Band Network 1.0 tracks that will never come to the PS3).

So if you're into music and Rock Band enough to buy an entirely different console, then I'd say getting the 360 is your best bet. So I'd go to wikipedia and look at all the songs released through the Rock Band Network on the 360 vs the PS3, and see if the songs that haven't been released (and songs like those to be released in the future) are enough of an enticement for you to purchase a 360.

The PS3 does other things better (they have Blu Ray while the 360 is DVD), BUT from a Rock Band point of view the 360 is the #1 choice by leaps and bounds above the other two consoles.

If you play Rock Band every day like you say, then yeah I'd highly suggest getting a 360 for full access to every song (and Microsoft gives Harmonix give away codes WAY more often than Sony does, so you have a lot more contests for free DLC on the 360 compared to the PS3).
