The hell are y'all talking about? There's been enough variety at least as far as genres go.

I mean, hell, just these last 5 weeks we've had:

    Johnny Cash - Classic Country
    Linkin Park - Nu Metal
    Stone Sour - Alternative Metal
    David Bowie - Classic Rock
    The Clash - Punk/Rock
8/9/11 (Def Leppard) will be marked as the best day in RB history for me. HMX, major thanks for all this amazing DLC you put out!

x2. There's already a ton of music like that on RBN and more coming every week. I'm glad HMX is releasing music that we aren't getting from RBN, keep up the good work dudes and ladies!

There's always going to be a need for variety. That said, I'd advise that instead of thinking "Old music sucks, new music rocks) or vice/versa, think "I like this music, I don't like that music". You'll find a lot of great music you enjoy if you stop thinking about when it was made.

All I care about in RB is that music comes out that I like. I love the Clash, I love Bowie, I love Ween, I love the Shins, these past two weeks have been great (on the PS3).

Hopefully next weeks announcement is more music I like

Totally agree. I grew up on Alternative/death rock/punk music in the 80s and early nineties, but it wasn't long before I began seeking out influences of the bands I liked.

I went back to the 70s and 60s, such as Jimi Hendrix, david bowies ziggy and the spiders from mars, the doors, the beatles, floyd.

While most of my friends just wanted to listen to the sistes of mercy over and over, I was discovering the bigger picture, breaking down labels and decade constrictions, and just listening to great music, without the pigeon hole of "well if I like death rock I can't listen to the specials (ska)" bull ****.

I was free to enjoy really good bands I may have missed.

One of the all time great punk albums, and at an amazing price. I would have certainly bought the songs "London Calling," "Spanish Bombs," "Clampdown," "Lost in the Supermarket," and "The Guns of Brixton" without even previewing. It's been years since I've heard the full album. (Yes, I'm old enough to own it on vinyl LP) I can't pass on a full album download for RB when it's only another $10 to get the entire 18 songs.

Guess it's against the rules to charge DLC over $20

If we got a mixed singles pack of 10 artists, people would complain about the song selections. Face it, some music, you won't like. Some music, you will like. Just because a couple of weeks in a row is music you don't like does not mean that HMX hates you or is saving you money or is not providing variety.
