    Opinions on Practice Mode?

Now that I play Pro-Keys, I've figured practice mode would finally be of use to me. I've tinkled the keys before the game, but of course I still have to learn these songs, and well, still end up failing sometimes.

The relentlessness of "Roundabout" on Expert Pro-Keys offered a project of my own, so going into practice, the first thing I've noticed that there is no longer a 60% and 50% speed. That really disappointed me. So 70% it was, why such a small note highway comes up is beyond me, but even then I still could not comprehend on what I was looking at.

Even practicing on that first bit, I can't seem to progress. I think practice sessions could've been better constructed, like offer new various training sessions for these songs in particular, like for examples:
    • The note highway freezes on a note in particular until you hit that note properly to advance to the next one.
    • Rhythm sessions where you can hit any note you want as long as it maintains the key rhythm of the notes you are supposed to be hitting.

That's just my thoughts, what's your opinions for practice mode for the pro-instruments.

I never used it at all until RB3. And the only reason I use it for RB3 is it's actually useful for vocals now, where you can skip to specific sections. It was a pain trying to learn how to FC a song, but maybe only 1 phrase keeps you from FCing it but it's late in the song. It wasn't worth using practice mode for vocals before RB3 just because you were forced to sing the whole song anyway. May as well just sing the whole song in quickplay or something, because if you hit it then you'll get credit.

I might end up using it for pro keys, pro guitar, and pro bass. But I am waiting for the Squier, and for pro keys I decided to work up through easier difficulties. I'm on medium and I haven't needed practice mode yet.

Yup this is one of the pet peeves most of the hardcore community has. Once RBN 2.0 hits you'll see this complaint become much more frequent.

Not just for pro drums, but also for vocal harmony. I never doubted practice mode before this; since the beginning. And I'm glad it's been worked on throughout each title. I hope for more to this as well as people's suggestions and complaints for it.

I spent the better part of a full day in Practice Mode on Roundabout and I'm actually capable of passing every section except the organ solos, which I never got around to playing.

It would have sped things up greatly if I could slow the chart down to 30% or so, without any sound at all, just so that I could memorize the track. Even at 70% I have to run through it probably a dozen times before I really comprehend what I'm reading.

You can stare at sheet music and slowly go through the motions for a measure or two until they make sense. RB Practice Mode won't let me do that

I have posted this on a different thread once before, but this is my main gripe with pro guitar. It is exponentially harder but the minimum practice speed is higher? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Agree; 70% is too damn fast to get to any point where I'm actually enjoying what I'm doing. Far fewer run-throughs at a slower speed would make it MUCH easier to learn the pro key parts (and the pro guitar parts, but I think I hate that damn controller and am gonna sell it!)

At the moment, I can't stand pro keyboard practice mode!

    Hi,

I've been playing Rock Band Green Day for a while on my PS3. I played it on the Wii for the first time just a few hours ago. On the PS3 playing in Practice Mode I can easily adjust the speed of the song by using the "joystick" on the guitar controller (it's a Guitar Hero controller!). But how can I do that on the Wii? The "joystick" on the guitar (also GH) for moving the cursor around, doesn't do anything. Neither does any other button I tried.

Can I slow down the songs in Practice Mode on the Wii? How do I do that?

    Mac
