New Radiohead Album

Little By Little is the weakest point for me, other than that song I skip more tracks on every other Radiohead album (besides Kid A) than I do TKOL. It is their most cohearant work in quite some time (since Kid A) Weaker lyrical content aside

One of my favorite albums from this year so far, to be honest.

So after hearing "Lotus Flower" for the 1000th time at the radio station I DJ at, I finally was forced to listen to the whole album. (Keep in mind I DJ at an indie/alt-rock station and freely admit I can't stand Radiohead even on air...opinion is biased).

I'm not going to immediatley go into ripping Radiohead like i usually do, and just say this album sounds more like a Thom Yorke solo album than a Radiohead album. I'm aware there's an immenseley talented band at work, but on this release I don't hear a "band" at all. I hear a bunch of synths, loops, keys, etc. etc. I have yet to even hear a guitar anywhere on the album. And yes I know Radiohead isn't a "guitar rock" band, but with as talented a guitarist that Radiohead has, to never truly feature him just seems wrong. Thom Yorke's lyrics/vocals continue to just ramble or drone on. With it's short length the album doesn't even feel finished.

Of the four Radiohead albums I've ever bothered with, TKoL was the only album of theirs I've had somewhat of a connection with.

Though Yorke's singles with Four Tet and Burial, those I strangely enjoyed.
