The article I linked doesn't assert that they will, but that they should. And it makes sense.

It does kind of make sense, but the Marlins will hold on to him until he gets too expensive then they will ship him out like they do with everyone else.

What's the point of holding on to him now, really? He's a 23 year old masher with four more years of club control. His value will never be higher than it is in this offseason. If Miami are truly playing a long game, getting one of the biggest trade hauls in baseball history (seriously) is a must.

I agree that moving him makes sense I just believe the Marlins will hold on to him until he gets expensive.

I'd offer two of Hultzen/Paxton/Walker, along with two of Catricala/Liddi/Triunfel, some organizational depth pieces like Rich Poythress and Marcus Littlewood, and ****, they can take Jesus Montero for all I care.
A really good young player MLB proven for prospects?!? Normally I'd say that it's a good move but the Mariners usually are on bad sides of those trades (Think the Bedard trade or the trade with the Indians for parts of a player as some of the more crippling examples).

Then again, the Mariners are usually on bad sides of any trades.

    love this:

baseball player gets in a car accident trying to avoid a deer, and of course the story has a bullet point saying that no alcohol was involved. cynicism for the win!

The Hall of Fame ballot was released. This year's first-time class will probably be the most intriguing one ever, with such luminaries as Royce Clayton, Mike Stanton, and Jeff Conine.

Also, Barry Bonds, Craig Biggio, Roger Clemens, Mike Piazza, and Sammy Sosa.

They need to get their thumbs out of their asses and elect Jeff Bagwell already.

Craig Biggio is also a no-doubt Hall of Famer. I'm not touching any of the steroid boys. There's no right answer there.

If the Hall of Fame committee have a brain fart and somehow elect Clemens into the hall; he better get in with an ear on his forehead. It doesn't matter what hat they have him wear on the plaque, he just better have an ear on his forehead.
