btw for all of the Marlin naysayers, keep in mind they HAVE won 2 World Series during the modern era. A lot of teams can't say the same. and they play in the toughest NL division

i told a buddy of mine, and i was serious, that the marlins will be in the world series within 4 years. but, i don't think anyone was being too overly critical of the marlins. everyone makes the joke about the fans because no one showed up to their ballpark. with the new stadium, the fans have no excuse. its gonna be a terrific park and people better show up. hell even im gonna make the trek next season to check it out.
and the new unis are hideous.

But those uniforms.....sweet merciful crap, those uniforms..........................
Big news today with the sale of the Astros being confirmed. Like dominos, the other pieces fell as well: the Astros will move to the AL West starting in 2013, and possibly as soon as next season there will be one additional wildcard team per league. The new 'round' of the playoffs will likely be one game.
And of course it's all about the money, as if we didn't know. Agreeing to move the team to the AL West cut the price for new owner Jim Crane from $680 million to $615 million. Major League Baseball will pay the Astros' old owner $35 million to cover part of the difference.
Before the Astros go to the AL, MLB has to decide on either DH in both leagues or neither league now that we'll have Interleague play every day.

Why can't they leave it like it is?
And you know if they do that, it's going to be DH-for-all. The National League and one of the two Japanese major leagues are the only ones anywhere that have the pitchers hit. All minor leagues (except AAA and AA when both teams are NL affiliates and agree to it), independent leagues, college leagues, semi-pro and the like use the DH.
I just think it's dumb that teams still have to deal with the awkwardness of playing by the other league's rules during Interleague play, and now that there will be one of those games every week, they should just make a decision.

Well to be fair, hoping and praying Kershaw would win the Cy was a bit like hoping and praying that the Phillies wouldn't lose 100 games.
