    some happenings tonight:

josh johnson came 5 outs away from the first no-hitter of the season.

roy halladay just escaped the natinals. had a shutout going into the 9th, gives up two runs and got a very favorable called 3rd strike to end the game.

Yeah, true. I feel it's been worse so far this year, though.

Yeah, I thought Pelfrey would get off to a better start than he has with Santana out, but that didn't happen.

The only real bright spot has been Chris Young so far, and that's not saying much. It's a shame because when healthy, they have the offense to win a lot of games, but their pitching constantly let's them down. It's quite frustrating.

Dickey's first start was good, as well. I hope he can rebound from that weaker second outing, and yeah, Young has had two very good starts. My biggest gripe with the pitching staff has always been the bullpen, though. I feel like the Mets have always overused the bullpen, and to be quite honest, most of our relief pitchers over the last ten years or so have been pretty bad. There are some exceptions, of course, but for the most part I feel the bullpen gets way too many innings for the good it's done the team. Then again, I'm of the notion that bullpens have become too big a factor in the game anyways, but that goes beyond my thoughts on the Mets' bullpen, I guess.

Word. I remember a Mariners/Jays game where I had seats in the Hit it Here Cafe (straightaway right field, second deck). Delgado hit a ball off Arthur Rhodes that I literally thought was gonna fall in my garlic fries. Didn't go quite that far, but man he still mashed it.

Actually that was a pretty awesome game all around...the Mariners came back to tie it in the 9th inning, then won in the 14th on a walk-off walk to Mike Cameron. By that time, me and my dad were sitting right behind home plate. There was nobody still there. I know he really wanted to leave, but I'm glad we stayed the whole time. I could never leave a baseball game early, unless I like had to catch a plane or something (and I better have gotten free tickets then, because why else would I have a plane to catch the night I go to a baseball game?).

the bad news? Sox are facing three ****ing lefties in four days against the Jays. cover your eyes, Carl. Sox seriously need to find a way to make something of this series

If the Sox are as god as hyped they should win, after all The Mariners took two of three from Toronto....

That being said, if they play like they have to start the year thus far, Boston could be in trouble.

(Currently the Sox are up on Toronto)

The Dodgers are really starting to...... make me lose all interest in the Dodgers.
If these walls could talk, the stories they'd tell,
and if they did, there'd be a whole lot of hell.
