Hiroki Kuroda just lost a no-hit bid in the seventh inning, against Texas, in Yankee Stadium.
Would have been one heck of an unlikely no-hitter had he pulled it off.
Equally amazing? The game's still scoreless going to the bottom of the seventh now.
I want Kuroda back.
Martin can stay over there, though.
If these walls could talk, the stories they'd tell,
and if they did, there'd be a whole lot of hell.
Between two of the highest-scoring teams in baseball in one of the most hitter-friendly parks in the league? Nahhhhhhhhhhh, that **** happens every other day. Yankee Stadium is lousy with 1-0 games.
Kuroda finishes with a complete game two-hit shutout, and two Yankee homers (gee!) in the bottom of the seventh give them a 3-0 win.
Pretty similar situation in Cincinnati: Mets and Reds are 0-0 through 8 and a half innings in another hitter's ballpark, then Jay Bruce hits a walk-off home run. 3-0 final. The only difference was that, for a 3-0 game, the pitching wasn't that good. There was only one inning for each team in which a batter didn't reach base (top of the first, bottom of the eighth).
They've all embarrassed themselves since last September. Any owner of a business worth his salt knows you can't let the inmates run the asylum. Don't let them come up the backstairs because they don't like the guy you hired. and the guy who was hired--a guy who was 10 years out of baseball and clearly in over his head--was hired to increase TV ratings. John Henry's leadership is the biggest problem.
The players. Really?? You sh*t on the manager last year. Caused him to get fired. Had the biggest collapse in the history of baseball. Did you come back with fire in your belly for redemption? Nope. Complained about how you are being treated at every opportunity.
Conclusion. Red Sox are probably 3-5 years from building a championship team. Gonzalez and Crawford may be the only veterans around, if only because of their contracts. Im just waiting for the day when Pedroia asks for a trade to the Dodgers.

They should trade Pedroia as soon as possible. His value is at an all time high and they could probably pull a couple of top twenty prospects plus a flier or two. Then they could set a timeline to compete in the 2014-2015 range. Spending in this free agency season is not going to help. If I were the owner I'd trade everything that isn't nailed down and send Bobby V back to the Japanese league.

Are there any Giants fans in this thread? If so here's some advice: You shouldn't cry over pilled Melk.
... I'll show myself out.
