I guess that will really depend on how he does THIS year. What, was he asking for? Just a measly $300mil over 10yrs that AZ didn't want to pay? Come on, scrape up that loose change...why leave it to free agency next year? Yankees will surely drive that amount up!

    same here, mega.

but it's always funt to speculate on where a player of pujols' caliber could end up. cubs, angels, dodgers, giants etc etc are just creaming to get their hands on pujols.

oh and reports are that the jays have given jose bautista a 5 year, $65 million dollar deal. that's a bit much for a guy who had one good year and is already 30 years old. they just unloaded a turrible contract and they're right back to giving another bad one.

I hate that I have to say this... but I was being extremely sarcastic with my earlier comment... I hope that came through.

has albert been the best player the last 8 years or so? probably. will he be the best player the next 10? no. i'm sure he'll have more productive seasons, and he may even be worth 30 million a year for the first few years, but i'd say that half that 10 yr contract will be an albatross to the cards.

Still haven't named one thing I said that was more ridiculous than the Yankees signing Pujols and moving him to third, moving A-Rod (who can barely play 3rd anymore) to short, and moving Jeter to left (probably the least ridiculous part of the whole thing).
