Santa Claustrophobia: Be careful what you ***** for, you just might get it.
If you don't people to show you up, don't throw them gifts like that. That pitch was begging to be put in the cheap seats. I'm not sure if there was previous history between the two, but Weaver could have reacted a lot better than he did.
The Bunting thing would have been a punk move for almost every other team, but it is absolutely a part of the Angels' Offense,so it doesn't bother me.
At any rate, any remaining games between the Angels and Tigers should be a lot more interesting this season.

The dude's ERA is under 2. How many HRs has he given up all year? Like 5? Unless there was something douchey that Weaver did besides b*tch slap the entire league so far this year, there is no reason to celebrate like a 13 year old for hitting one HR off of someone who is a lot better than you.

I hope Bedard does well for the Red Sox, because the Mariners are probably just going to re-sign him in the offseason (unless someone with deeper pockets really goes nuts). Dude luvs Seattle, and we're kind of fond of him as well. Unless the plan is for Charlie Furbush to join the rotation next year. We're looking at:
1. King Felix
2. Pineda
3. Vargas
4. Beavan (?)
5. ???
I'm a little surprised Fister was traded and not Vargas, though Fister's value was probably higher considering he's under team control for not one but THREE more years. We'll probably see Beavan, Furbush, quite possibly Bedard, and maybe Luke French and Nate Robertson if they're still around, tussling for those bottom spots in the rotation.
I don't know Carlos Guillen, but I don't think he did that just to be a punk. But who knows? I feel like there's something more there, because Magglio Ordonez did something similar earlier in the game. Maybe he said something that pissed them off or something. But whatever, its over.
It sucks that it took the shine off of a match-up of easily the two best pitchers in the AL this year.

maggs also stared at his homer during the same game. that's when it intially started. maggs hit a pop out later in the game and they jawed back and forth to each other. then guillen did his bull**** and weaver had to send a message. also, lots of people are saying that he shouldn't have aimed at his head. he wasn't. if weaver wanted to hit avila, he would've. he was only trying to send a message.
as far as the bunt is concerned, you're right. it is in aybar's game and his job in a close game is to get on base. you have to try to disrupt the rhythm of the opposing pitcher and it worked. verlander got rattled. the angels got back into the game because of the bunt. i think its nonsense that verlander called it "bush league" but he's trying to get another no-no so i can understand where he's coming from. certainly wasn't bush league.

Well it is certainly in baseball's unspoken rules to not bunt to break up a no-hitter,so I can understand both sides of the argument.

i don't care if they bunt. field your position and you'll get them out. would you rather lose a no hitter on a broken bat bloop or a perfectly executed bunt?
also, spacebar.
