LB19: What are you basing your selections on. Are these just your personal favorite albums by your personal favorite artists? Just curious because while I've heard many of these (no where near all of them), I don't think my life would be incomplete if I'd missed out on most of the ones I have already heard. This is obviously very subjective, but it'd help if you had a reason next to each one for why you recommend them.

I noticed that after I posted it, and it won't let me edit the post.

90% of these I (and I'm sure others) consider "classic" in the sense that these should be heard by music lovers regardless of preference (that's what I was aiming for anyway)

a lot of them are my favorites as well (most notably Integrity, Converge etc.) but also have high ground considering the impact they had in their respective genre

and I would love to put a reason by these albums and why they should be heard, but the forum buttons won't let me save any edit I make

When did Morbid Angel become Thrash Metal? I ask this because Morbid Angel are one of the textbook examples of Death Metal.
Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:

    Bathory []
    Bal Sagoth []
    Amorphis []
    Emperor [X]
    Enslaved []

Considering the composition of the list, I'll take agreeing with 42% of it...
