If Harmonix mixed guitars in a pro guitar chart, they would have to make sure that the pro guitar chart was accurate to fit within a single tuning or it would be wrong.

I agree. I tried the half-step down tuning and it was wrong. Standard tuning seems to work for this one.

Every tab for Hey Man, Nice Shot I've seen has been in Drop D and they look pretty much the same as HMX's chart.

INXS - Need you Tonight: Dunno if this is in standard tuning but it sounds like it is. If not, it could be in E Flat as well. Tabs online have a C barre chord played instead of C#.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Crosstown Traffic: Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb (E Flat Tuning)

Smash Mouth - Walking On The Sun: Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb (E Flat Tuning)

I hope these are right. Feel free to correct me if they aren't though.
Four internet cookies for you good sir! I will check on the Filter song tomorrow.

    Yes four internet cookies!!

I believe TheHundredDollarHeadache and Darky_06 deserve internet cookies for correctly mentioning that Fortunate Son (Original) is actually tuned down a whole step (D-G-C-F-A-D). My mistake, sorry about that. Thanks for the correction guys.

If bass players are curious, both pro bass charts for "Fortunate Son" and "Bad Moon Rising" are in standard tuning.

Another interesting one is "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake - the guitar is in standard, but the bass is in Drop D.

Noted! I didn't know that any bass songs had alternate tunings. I'll add another section for bass at the end of the first post.

Another few songs I got today that have alternate tunings which I don't know. Cookies to anyone finding the right tunings!

Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus (my guess is one full step down)
The Police - Every Breath You Take

Heaven forbid we get any Zeppelin in this game... they used a bunch of kooky tunings.

Sonic Youth, too, but nobody's clamoring to go pro with those guys...

I think "Every Breath You Take" is in E Flat tuning. I've found some tabs identical to HMX chart in E Flat.

"Personal Jesus" I don't know. I've found tabs online that chart the main riff along F# in Standard tuning. Maybe HMX charted it in Standard tuning with a Capo on the 2nd fret?
