Ceelo is one of the few musicians in the top 40 who has a passion for motown and stax soul music, would you prefer him to completely cater to the plastic urban soul that Beyonce and others like her have been passing around for decades? Yes, Forget You is a song that isn't sophisticated; but it's still arranged, produced and delivered extremely well.

If censorship laws were not crap in the 60s, I'm sure a sorrid Al Green or Otis Redding would of written something just as blunt.

i'm not saying we should. I'm just saying he's not that great.... and that songs not that great either... especially the random off-pitch screams in the middle... that's what i call bad singing.

Everything Ceelo does he does pretty spot on and I don't hear anything extremely off key in all honesty, it's an imagined criticism. I heard him bend some notes with his raw emotion, yes, sure he's no Jorge Ben but he does his job and the song's emotion prevails.

You say you like soul, but he does every motown and stax trick in the book in his music, which is the definition of NOT bad singing and as a soul fan you should know this.

I actually like Forget You (the "censored" version) of the piece more, it adds more cohesion, not to mention doesn't rely on a taboo.
