Playing Pokemon Red/Blue:
1.) Bulbasaur/Squirtle rapes
2.) Charmander can use Ember, or Evolve into Charmelein and just annihilate Brock
3.) Butterfree is an option but why waste good EXP on such a weak Pokemon.

Playing Pokemon Yellow:
1.) Pikachu learns leer and Quick Attack. Nullify their defense.
2.) Mankeys Low Kick insta kills
3.) pidgeotto has a surprisingly strong when caught at low level and raised.

Because Brock has weak levels, his team isn't really stacked with defense. Just use leer/growl for your charmander and he can slowly take it if you're patient.
