Once get the hang of the game, it's a lot easier. I haven't touched it in a year or 2 and in a few sessions I'm up to Level 16 starting from scratch. Deathclaws still make me run like Dog chasing a permanent forum ban so avoid them at all costs.

GOTY installs it all automatically. You should have several missions that have to do with radio signals. "Aiding the Outcasts" mission is Operation Alaska. I can't remember but the Zeta one is maybe "Out of this World"?. The downed spaceship is North and maybe slightly west of Megaton. I didn't go there this time because using the alien pistol made the game easier the first time I played it. You don't get a lot of ammo so save it for mutants.

The DLC is already on the disc. It should be there already.

If you go for the alien pistol, do not get sucked into the portal unless you want to play through the whole DLC. You cannot leave any DLC until you complete it. The main game has a far superior story line to any of the DLC.


The pistol was very easy for me to get the first game so it's your best bet for a very overpowered weapon. Stay away from the light Carol Ann...and mMB don't load the 2nd disk...tehehe 2nd disk
