When the PC version of this appears I think that I'll probably buy it. My PC is always running (connected to the same 46" 1080p LCD panel and 5.1 AVR as the rest of my stuff--I sit about 8 feet from it with a wireless keyboard & mouse on a laptop cart); it'd be nice to just plug in the guitar and run the program instead of having to switch to the Xbox and boot it up.

I think that the PC version is very important for them; there are probably lots of beginnng and intermediate guitarists who'd be interested in this but who don't play video games or own a console.

I am very curious to see what "happens" when the PC version hits...

    I will say no more...

I'd be very curious to know what you mean.

My brother's waiting on the PC version. He has a Wii at home and isn't interested in buying another game console. His computer is in his home office. He has a pretty nice sound system hooked up to it and does most of his music listening there through iTunes.

He has a gianormous TV, too bad he won't be playing in front of that.

The tech is similar, but the interface is different. Analog to digital. In any case, I can't wait to see some totally awesome harmony videos of multiple people doing multiple vocal tracks on guitar.

Which reminds me of this girl playing the flute to Avenged Sevenfold's "Afterlife." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oFP_TH8jYY

In regards to European sales or what?

Because PC versions of games are region-free, so there should be a huge boost in sales (I hope) and a ton more people playing the game.

I sent out a question asking about a guitar bundle for the PC. Still waiting to hear back.

I think Doc is talking more about the fact that people will modify the game and insert their own charted songs into it. See Guitar Hero 3 for PC as an example of this in the past.
    Insert signature here.

Ahhhh I get it. I just may get the PC version just for that! I played ES IV on the PC and the Mods were just nuts.

Hmmm, I'm curious as to the note detection in rs, you say it does a spectrum comparison, but then it also shows, placement when you get it wrong so it must do something.
It probably does some pretty nifty spectrum analysis with ffts (or some other faster numerical approximation), now patching this into rb3 shouldn't be too hard or eat up computational resources, ps3 has 4 independent stream processors and I doubt they use them all. The issue is they'd have to insert a tuning section which would probably be a pain (you have to build an interface you can't just code the maths and go).

Ahhh well one can always hope ...

Unlocked a songs master mode today. Lol. It was rough. I got 75% accuracy but my score went up by over 50% so that was cool. There didn't seem to be any indicators of how I was doing during the play though. Not going to try that again until I really memorize the song.

    Which song have you tried?
