Seems like there's already additional DLC content in App Store. The songs are $1.99 and the lessons $0.99

I found also a related Dave Mustaine: Guitar Prodigy app which is made by the same developers. It has only three songs: Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls and Public Enemy No. 1.
There's another app called Miso Music: Plectrum that does the same thing by listening through the iPad's mic.

I was using the guitar since May on RB, and then using it exclusively on Rocksmith since that came out. I play about one hour a day. It should not be wearing this badly. The RB Squier has soft frets. So if you really like Rocksmith, you'll have to upgrade to a real guitar within six months or so anyway.
OMG that's a ton of wear. Great pic.

I had posted a thread about that game and was curious about it but had no replies. If I bump it we can discuss it.

The Mustaine does not requier this as per the app it will pick up with the mic. Then I read somewhere in the Prodigy site that the mic should work with the non-Mustaine app as well.

Free download (says this week only), but I suspect that it's kind of like a razor, where they expect to make the money selling the blades . Check it.
nice to see somebody finally got the notation system right.

Rock Prodegy is OK but it is not on a par with RS or RB IMO note detections is flunky especially on the low E and the sound of your guitar is horribly lacking in effects or distortion. Youc an turn it off and have just the recroded track ala RB but kind of defeats the object of using your own guitar. It does, however illustrate that RS cannot copyright the idea of pitch detection and using your own guitar so RB could develop their own system, or bring in a 3rd party such as these guys.

Good grief, what are they making the frets out of, cream cheese? mine is nothing like that (though I do not use it for anything other than RB so am not bending notes on it)

GarageBand has featured guitar lessons with note detection for at least a few years and this thing has been on the market for a while. Ubisoft cannot patent the concept of pitch detection, just their specific implementation of it.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to shell out that $100 or even $30 yet for this purpose The program looks pretty nice and the notation interface is well implemented but I'm still a bit sceptical how it's going to work, especially how well it detects what's played and when.

I wonder if it would be possible to connect a guitar to iPad with Rocksmith's cable using for example the Apple Camera Connection Kit (I don't have one yet so I could test this out but was thinking about getting one so I could connect a midi keyboard to iPad).

For those that complain about RB's alleged lack of pro support, please notice rocksmith's DLC for this week.
