How many Guitar Hero songs are in Rock Band or vice-versa? Maybe some Rocksmith fans don't own a copy of Rock Band 3, and don't want to spend all that money on the game and a fake plastic guitar (or an even more expensive, almost impossible to find real guitar) on top of the $3 song. Not to mention having to learn a new interface, not being able to hear yourself, no dynamic difficulty...

For purposes of example it's perfectly applicable: GH is to RB as RB3 Pro G/B is to RS. Should any game which deals with downloadable content which is music take whether some other game is offering the same music? Doing so only benefits whatever subset of their players have that other game (and one or more of its expensive fake real guitar controllers), to the detriment of their players who only have their game.

I never said Ubisoft shouldn't release Rocksmith DLC for songs that are already in Rock Band. Should anybody have forgotten why we're arguing about this, www1221 questioned whether it actually bothered anybody that there are pro guitar songs overlapping with RS DLC. I said it interests me less than getting unique songs instead. One or more people assumed that "Ubisoft should avoid making overlap with their DLC offering to appease RB players" must be what I meant, but that is not the case. It seems like we've been fighting over a straw man for the past couple of pages.
The argument started back here which wasn't one of your posts. (also, it's been like 25 posts ago, some of which weren't part of it--you must have page size set very small).
And even then, though it can be played as a real guitar, you're not playing it as a real guitar in RB. You have to use the mute and it doesn't give a damn if your guitar is in tune or what you'd sound like if you were playing out loud. So far, RS is the only game which scores you on the sound you're actually making with an instrument.

I find myself really missing some of my RB3 pro songs lately.
My squier has a broken string and I haven't bothered to replace it, since I find rocksmith so much more satisfying. (and the intonation on my squier kind of sucks).
It's looking like the song might be Redneck by Lamb of God
