You know what else pushes this ahead of RB, RBR?
Muse on disc. Just sayin' :P

SillyStou: What will happen to this place when Rock Band ceases to exist?
RockBandRocker: We will all migrate to the Dance Central forums. It will be like Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt.
Munnchy: Only Flashier, with impeccable dance moves.
RockBandRocker: With more glitter and glam. We will survive
OK, tired of waiting on Harmonix to get their "real guitar" game out... Just ordered from Amazon the RockSmith bundle. I wanted a Squier when it was put out for Rock Band because it actually teaches you where to put your hand... but by time I could get one, they were no longer being made. I don't want a mustang, because it doesn't really help you with playing on strings... sure, it will teach you how to place your fingers, but that is not fully what I wanted.
So, I waited and waited for Harmoinx to say something... they have not, so I jumped ship. Alesia has to study for her series 7 exam over this long weekend and I paid extra to get the game and guitar delivered tomorrow.
I still wish I could have gotten a Squier for a decent price, but, oh well.
Pushing 50 and still rockin' like a teen, only now I can afford it and it takes longer to recover.
you're not missing out on much with the squier. with the RS bundle you'll get a much better guitar and it's better for actually learning to play a guitar. the finger position display on RB is a bit overrated, being able to hear your own playing instead of a pre-recorded track is much more important to learning to play properly.
On temporary hiatus from Rock Band. Too busy playing Rocksmith.

Yeah, there's no difficulty in RS. The more notes you hit, the more it adds. (Until maxed) The more you miss, it'll eventually start taking notes away to help you.
