I understand that, just saying the money I already spent wasn't exactly well utilized looking backwards. Even going by your prices a used guitar plus a copy of Rocksmith would have run me less than the Yourock + what I needed for Pro, and it would have had strings.

Sure I could have get a used electric cheap, but I'm a cheap bastard and kind of kicking myself for the cash I already put out for the Midi Guitar before I knew something like this was coming out. 200 would have bought a nice starter electric I think. Just lamenting outloud.

On that note if anyone is picking this up and has a Yourock and see if the cable out works with this and post the answer. I'll be your best friend.

Hey Cloud, any mini-games oriented around rhythm/muting? That brings up a good question, can the game detect muted strings well? That's one big problem with the implementation of fret sensors on the rock band squier (along with harmonics and bends)

is there any menu options that allow you to modify the color coding of the strings? I'm a bit color blind and am wondering if the color coding will give me struggles.
I'm going to look for you right now.

The string you need to play highlights during the course of gameplay, which will help notify you of what to play.

Looking through the options, I don't really see a way to adjust the colors that correspond to the strings.

The game detects muted strings, as well. You'll be "penalized" for not palm muting a string that says "Hey, palm mute this." The game likes chunky palm mutes.

Also, as far as muted strings go (like open strings in the middle of a chord across two non-adjacent strings), the game will not fault you for playing them, but does teach you that you need to lightly press one of your fingers across it to mute it.

And looking through the minigames, there are none centered around muting strings.

    There are games for:
    >Fretting across a single string (Ducks)
    >Fretting across multiple strings (Super Ducks)
    >Scales (Scale Runner)
    >Staccato picking (Quick Pick Dash)
    >Bends (Big Swing Baseball)
    >Harmonics (Harmonically Challenged
    >Chords (Dawn of the Chordead)

Ugh, i only ever seen them at retail on ebay new (Again, I'm cheap that's where I tried to get it first) not sure about Craigslist. I'll hold on to it for now and wait and see if it works with this game. I mean it hooks up to an amp with a guitar cable so I'm guessing that it converts digital to analog and am hoping that the sampled sounds are good enough for the game to recognize. *fingers crossed*

Cool- thanks for all the fantastic info! I guess the benefit of actually hearing what you are playing is that even if the game doesn't penalize you for not muting, you will be able to hear it!

There are some excellent songs that I wish were in RB, however I'm on the fence with the setlist. I'll be interested in what people have to say about it once it comes out.

I'm surprised that Ubisoft are waiting until next week to announce the rest of those tracks.

I'm a big fan of the Stones, so it's nice to see "Play With Fire" pop up, but if their thinking was to "wow" everyone with Clapton, I probably would have gone with a bigger track - that being said, I'm still extremely impressed with the set list as a whole - looking forward to playing it this week!

Now just to wait until Tuesday for the first DLC announcement!

I think I might actually grab this release week; I already have a few guitars, so I'm not really interested in the one that comes with it. How much is the adapter that lets me play my guitars with the game?
