If I get a pickup for my acoustic guitar, do you still think it'd work out OK for Rocksmith? I've heard some acoustic pickups have a little bit of a latency issue *just with an amp*, so I was wondering what you guys think.

I have my Squier, of course, but my acoustic is one of these with some nice Martin's strings on it, and the sound quality difference is immense.

I've heard this is an acceptable way to "electrify" your guitar and they recommend it for acoustics that are not hybrid electrics as well.

Of course, you have to make sure it's mounted correctly, otherwise you are going to have latency issues. The pickup is there so the string resonance is detected and if it takes a while for the pickup to detect the strings, you are going to get lag.

Thanks Cloud. I'm looking forward to your review. I decided to go ahead and pre-order the game. I'm getting it from Amazon and I'm in Hawaii (aka land of no release day shipping so may as well just use free shipping) so I probably won't have the game until next weekend minimum.

The ones I have on my Jackson currently are 52s-10s, the Skinny/Top Heavy Bottom Ernie Balls. On my ESP, I have 42s-9s, if I recall. May be 46 for the low E.

Always, always personal preference, but thicker strings come with the bonus of helping you build finger strength, so if you ever go to a smaller gauge, you'll be able to get some ridiculous bends.

Also, if you're serious about playing, I recommend investing a few dollars in a hand grip. You can either grab one on Amazon or at your local sporting goods store. I'm sure Walmart and Target will carry them, too.
That's what I use. I reversed the name earlier. >.<

You realize Kyle is Cloud here and that he already posted it, right?

you may want to check out gamestop or best buy for a pre order. both give you two free downloaded songs, gamestop will aslo give you a 25 dollar gift certificate for guitar center and best buy gives you an in game guitar + 3 exclusive effect pedals.

Will those pre-order songs be exclusive, or will they come to DLC? I'm not really interested in Free Bird, because it's already in RB, but I am very interested in Bodysnatchers.

Not a bad setlist. I thought not requiring masters would lead to more impressive artists. Hoping for some Black Sabbath DLC.

They will probably be available as DLC. Haven't seen anything about exclusitvity. But that's a guess. Anybody else know for sure?
