One more question: I heard that bass may be added as DLC. So, would that mean I could plug my bass into the game and play with that? If so, that would be incredibly awesome. I enjoy playing pro bass, but it's just not the same on the Squier or Mustang as it would be on my crappy (but real) bass.

Yeah that would be awesome. I took my Squier over to my sister's house and was playing Rockband with my nephew. He's been taking lessons on the Bass and he said that trying to play the Bass lines on a regular guitar was messing him up. So being able to play on his own Bass would be a huge help.

Of course the next question would be, when would the Bass download be available? If it's soon, as in by Christmas, then getting a copy for my sister's family would be a no brainer. My brother also can't wait, but he has a Wii so he has to wait for the PC version (Dec 15? ish).
Headliner; don't know why it says Unsigned.

Yes, bass as done by rocksmith would be plugging a bass into the game rather than a guitar. Since Rocksmith's note detection is done by frequency, it would be fairly easy for them to do this, just adjust the frequencies the game is looking for.

I heard about this game a long time ago and dismissed it from my mind immediately as just another rhythm game. But today I happened upon some details of it and I gotta say I think I'm getting it now. The set list is QUITE exciting for me since I love alternative and classic rock. I never thought I'd see Best Coast, Sigur Ros, Cream, and The XX all gracing the same setlist but I am just so happy about it. I also finally looked up gameplay videos and the interface looks good if not a little disorienting at first. The minigames for learning guitar techniques is a DAMNED clever idea. The fact that I already own a real guitar (A crappy Fender Squier but still) makes this quite accessable to me. I do have two questions to ask however:

I've heard that preordering the game comes with two bonus downloadable songs, Freebird and some kind of Radiohead song. I've never been a Radiohead fan but I want Freebird, will these songs be available to buy for people who don't preorder or do I need to try to find a store that will take preorders still at this late date?

How many of the songs in the game are masters vs. covers? I've never minded covers as long as they are well done but I'd still like to know just to satisfy my own curiosity .

    Rock on peeps!

Probably will be able to buy, but stores take preorders until the game comes out or their stock is claimed.

    All masters.

The DLC store probably won't be activated for a bit to give Gamestop exclusive some actual meaning

    All masters.
Ah well okay then. I thought I had read somewhere that they weren't limiting themselves to masters but if they were able to assemble such a great setlist without having to do covers then more power to them .

That's all right, I'm a beginner at guitar so I won't be able to play Freebird for a while anyway haha. I don't mind waiting . I am tempted to preorder from Gamestop anyway though to get the $25 guitar center gift card, that's a great value, could put that towards getting the new drum throne I've been wanting .

Might eventually get this game. However, I don't get more money until my birthday, Halloween, and then the next day, so I may as well wait and get Skyrim.

But I may still get this game.

i guess all those people hoping for a horizontal scrolling guitar chart in this game are going to be disappointed.
Agreed, I don't understand why they chose to display the "tab" with colored gems and crap. If it ain't broke don't fix it. They should have just copied the RB3 style but fixed arpeggio notes not bening numbered lol

Except Harmonix probably has copyright on their Pro notation, and DOES have copyright on angled highways.
