I certainly won't jump ship, if anything I see it making me play RB3 pro guitar more often: I may just have found a game that complements RB3 pro guitar. I can see it as a training tool making me better with the RB3 pro guitar.
Plus, it certainly is no match for RB3, where I spend most of my time either singing harmonies or playing pro drums. Also there's that 3200+ song library discrepancy...

Rocksmth wont be winning over the 5 button crowd any more than RB's Pro Mode did.
And while I am enjoying Rocksmith, there is nowhere to plug in my drums or keyboard... or be scored for vocals... or harmonies... or on line play... or...
And since this is just more Rocksnith discussion with some RB comparisons tossed in, it can live in the Rocksmith discussion thread.
This game is aimed more at people who actually want to play guitar. Rock band is still a game(though it has added deeper parts). The audiences are quite different(though with a slight overlap).

Kinda sucks the joystiq review is the top hit on google (at least for me when I search for rocksmith review'. I don't think those guys gave it a fair shake, so I'm hoping that's not the most 'relevant' review.
