The Epiphone LP Special II that I talked about ordering back here arrived this morning (I ordered it Monday evening from Amazon). I ordered the "wine red" finish which turns out not to be the relatively bright red pictured on Amazon's page and here at Epiphone.com, but a deep, dark burgundy/blood color--I opened it in subdued daylight and it seemed almost black at first glance. It's not any of the 5 finishes shown in the Epiphone pic, but like the red one in the pic it has all black hardware, bridge and tuners; it's the only finish color that comes with black hardware.

After finding some e-tail sites offering the SG Special with pickguard, I tried to cancel this order but Amazon wouldn't let me (it was 12 hours before they shipped it ). I'd consider this color variation enough of an excuse to return it without penalty, but (a) packing it back up and taking it to a PO or mail store would be a non-trivial bother, (b) it would be next week before I got a replacement and (c) I don't dislike this finish--it's growing on me .

I tuned it but I haven't tried it with the game yet; I'll check it out later this afternoon when I have more time.

I think "Well OK Honey" is called like "Hipster Tone" or something

Definitely try it through a regular amp too if you can. You want to know how it sounds without all the effects modeling going on in the game. Personally, the wine-red sounds cooler than bright red to me!

"Well OK Honey" is giving me a brick wall...

I've played it 7 times hovering around 22000, but can't seem to do any better. I guess it is time to practice!

On a positive note though, I finally got "Play With Fire" down good enough to qualify! I'm really liking this sense of real progress I'm getting from Rocksmith.
On temporary hiatus from Rock Band. Too busy playing Rocksmith.

    I unlocked Super Ducks tonight
I am currently at around 1,300,000 RSP Points and at Level 3
I also finally unlocked the AMP where I can actually add a patch.

So I think around 1Million pts or so is when you get AMP mode (or maybe after the 4th performance I think) in case you were wondering

    1. Is there any way to go back and replay events? I double encored my first event and unlocked a song, but I did badly in the second event and only got one encore. Did I miss an unlockable song? If so, how can I go back and get it?

    2. The replays sound terrible and totally dissimilar from what I just played. Its not just me being unable to judge my own playing, I've had people watch me and then say that the replay didn't sound anything like the song I just played. Maybe they are trying to spare my feelings?

    3. Don't like the absence of overstrum penalties.

    4. The bend game seems screwy. If I wait till it says swing and then immediately strum, I'm almost always way too late. Seem to have a problem getting the timing down, and the game occasionally has problems registering a strum, but just on that game. Its not just my bending being inaccurate, it happens on non-bending notes as well.

    5. For all the tuning the games makes you do, its surprisingly generous about what it considers "in tune". There have been times where I've done the tuning in game, it says "in tune", I disagree and make adjustments on several strings, and I'm still in tune according to the game. Weird.

    6. Anybody know how to unlock scale runner and super ducks? I've unlocked most of the games through technique challenges or songs, but there's no obvious technique that screams "scale game unlocker!"

If your TV is relatively new (< 3-5 yrs old) it might have a game mode. Mine is pretty new but doesnt have a game mode. Each level of TV in the companies line is different and geared towards different users so.... your results may vary

Notes you hit correctly will flash the bars on the neck in blue
Also the "subliminal" messages in the background will tell you when you did a good streak or broke it but of course when theres a lot going on its hard to see all that
Im glad its more in the background and not in your face like other "games" do it which is distracting

In Rock Band I can see that I've broken my combo, but in RS I have a hard time telling if I miss one note in a stream of notes...

+2 Me too. Its nice to hear it as you really played it to see how you did and help you determine where to get better as when you are playing it live you are concentrating too much .
Learning from your mistakes is another COOL and awesome thing they have done here

its the "lay it on the line" mode when there is no hiding behind a plastic axe and saying you did good.
