I'm about 21 mil. The thing is, RSPs are completely useless once you get 4 songs mastered because you can technically just keep putting those 4 songs in a setlist and rack up the points. Anyone can get to level 11 this way... So it's meaningless. The maximum qualifying score for a song is 150,000, which is really easy to get to when a song is mastered.
When I do a master setlist I typically get something like 1.6 million RSPs in a single go even if I don't do well on the encore/double. Then I can rinse and repeat with those exact same songs if I want... So I've stopped playing events, and now my goal is to level as many songs as I can, and get all the effects pedals. I still have 9 effects pedals to get.
So far the most difficult effects pedal to get seems to be the one you unlock with Ricochet single note. But Star Spangled Banner is probably challenging as well, haven't tried that one yet.
So how has RS affected your RB3 playing? I think I've played once or twice in the past 2 weeks. If I could I'd sell my RB3 Squier and all my DLC to cut into an American Strat. RB is fun but we never have parties and I'd rather be getting better at guitar. My wife doesn't sing as much as she used to. I know there's another thread for this but I think RS was the one that tore me away from RB.
I was getting better from playing RB pro mode. But the leveler kind of makes it less frustrating and the mute slowed me down and I can hear myself. I notice my ear is getting better and it's easier for me to learn riffs by ear. I probably can only play a handful of riffs from RB3 after 8 months of pro mode no thanks to the mute. I used to practice the RB3 trainings with a real guitar on You Tube before the Squier came out and I think I remember those better because I heard them. I should be excited for Under the Bridge coming to pro mode finally but it's RB pro.Hopefully HMX can exceed RS and I can enjoy the tons of pro songs I have in RB4.

Pls improve guitar pro for RB4. Any guitar, no mute, dynamic difficulty
Ashamed to say I have not booted RB3 up since I got Rocksmith the week it released. Also not bought any DLC. That will change with Under the Bridge, but I find rocksmith so much more fulfilling. Playing More Than A Feeling last night, hearing my guitar with just the right tone was one of those stand out moments, akin to when I first hit notes in GH2 all those years back. The pro version in RB3 did not give me that feeling, somehow using a guitar to triger a sampled sound track just does not feel real.
The other thing that makes it so good is the dynamic difficulty, HMX should be introducing that for all instruments, pro or otherwise, it totally removes the frustration hitting a wall in RB has.
Posted with my iPad. Hence the bad spelling/grammar.
I've played Rock Band a couple times since getting Rocksmith, but only with friends/my girlfriend - if I'm playing alone, it's Rocksmith recently. I haven't bought any Rock Band DLC since Rocksmith came out, but that's largely because I haven't been that interested in the stuff that's had pro upgrades. I'll probably get the 2 Stevie songs just to support soul music in RB although the guitar parts aren't that interesting to me.
Just grabbed 'More Than A Feeling' last night. I would've like to get 'Smoke on the Water' too, but since I'm on PS3 I'll have to wait... anyway, I'm already maxed out most of the sections on both arrangements. The solo in Combo 2 hates me, though. I can play everything spot on, but it does not seem to like the way I do the bends, no matter how I try it. As a result, it refuses to level me up. Maybe I've missed something, but it doesn't seem like there's really any indication of how far your supposed to bend the string within the song. If I'm wrong on this, please feel free to correct me. Other than that, I'm having a blast with this song.
I've also gotten most of Number Thirteen (combo) mastered. I just need to get that damn transition portion down. What really throws me is the jump from the sixth string (thick 'E'; red) to the third string (G; orange). Even worse, I can play it pretty well outside of the game, but playing it with the notes flying at me seems to mess me up. -_- I'm going to get this damn song down! I'm having a lot of fun with most of the songs in the game, but there are only a few that I care about enough to fully level and learn them, and Number Thirteen is one of those songs, so I'll be damned if I let it beat me.
It is not closed-minded to dislike something. It is, however, closed-minded to degrade something simply because you dislike it.
^Yeah that's when I played. To get the patch and play on legacy guitar BHS and DC. An hour later I was done but I had to go somewhere.
Quick question about the song versions in RS. Why do some songs have different versions like single, chord, combo. I know what they mean but is it that the actual artist played each version and dubbed them together onto the master? Or is it a bleeps and giggles thing? I know they don't call it lead and rhythm but maybe the band has 2 guitarists and 3 parts. Rhythm maybe playing the chords and a combo while the lead plays lead?
