Seems like PS3 users are getting the brunt of the crashes. Xbox has the known issue if you get an encore for a song that was in your setlist to begin with, but PS3 seems to just crash in the larger venues with more than 4 songs. In some cases even going down to 4 songs doesn't help.

So far I've only had one crash on my xbox, it was just randomly while playing a song, so not related to the big issues that everyone is running into.

I can honestly say that Rocksmith has completely taken me away from Rock Band. I tried playing pro guitar the other day but I hate the fact that I can't hear my self play. Pains me to say it, but Rocksmith handily beats Rock Band 3 in terms of real guitar play.

I have to say that even though I love Rocksmith. I love Rock Band just as much still. Though I did try RB3's pro mode with a mustang controller and I have to say I like Rocksmith far more for real guitar play. The thing I like about RS better is the way the notes are displayed that you have to play. I think it's better for begginers. One thing about RB3's pro mode which is better is it shows you where your fingers are placed on the neck. Which RS doesn't have and if they did RS would be not just great but amazing. But if RS had that, then you couldn't "Play with Any real guitar!".

I still love RB for 5 button guitar and bass. I also like to play keys on guitar and I'm planning on getting a keyboard controller for RB. But I can't find one in my area and they're sold out on amazon.ca the last time I checked. Also it won't let me order the keyboard from amazon.com since I live in Canada. I would also play drums if there was an "auto-kick" mode, since I'm terrible at doing both the main 4 drums and the foot pedal. I could work on my drumming skills but I think I'd find it too boring since I'd have to go down to easy, or medium. When I can play fine on expert if I don't have to use the foot pedal. So anyways I still have a lot to do with RB and with weekly DLC in it, it helps keep me interested in RB.

Why not just get a yamaha instead? Brand new ones with midi outs can be had for cheap

gamesharkstore.ca has them for PS3 and Wii; if you need one for Xbox, you're SOL.

I'm SOL and also replying to getting a real keyboard and midi adapter, well my OCD wants me to get an official RB keyboard. I am not sure even if I could find a midi adapter.

The "Rock Band® 3 MIDI PRO-Adapter™ For Xbox 360®" is something available from gamesharkstore.ca, should you decide to go that route.

Strange that gamesharkstore.ca doesn't even have a listing for the Xbox keyboard marked "temporarily unavailable"--it's like they never had it and don't plan on ever having it.

There's a few good uses for an mpa and not many negatives, so you may want to consider it. The only times I use my rb keytar is when someone else is playing my roland drums (IME calibration is never spot on for both at once) or if I'm just feeling lazy. Using an mpa connected full size keyboard has the advantage for pro mode play since you are already transferring your right hand practice to a real full keyboard, being able to hear your own real feedback ( one of the biggest positives for rs on guitar) and having the ability to alter your voicing to what fits best, it also gives you the opportunity to noodle around with your left hand if you desire. Id consider it if I were in your position, if you enjoy keys the reality is you'll probably want a full keyboard within months anyway.

Edit: there is another positive to owning an mpa I neglected to think about at first. If you do not already own a way to access full pro mode play and own either a real guitar or acoustic drums, it is good for scrolling very useful drum and guitar charting for you while you jam along to the backing audio track.

    Oh yeah...
Added negative - not wireless :/
