Irrelevant. I don't use the mustang when I play Rock Band, I use my Squier. I tried the Mustang, didn't care for it. I would have asked you to put RS back on also if all you had was the Mustang.

My main gripe with Rock Band Pro is the mute bar on the Squier, because it makes strumming more difficult. However, Rock Smith notation gets too busy looking at times for me. Many times, it's difficult for me to determine what fret the notes are on. It would help if they could highlight the frets that are being used better.

That's too bad. I really enjoy my Squier. I realize it's nothing more than a practice instrument, but it works well for me on both Rock Band and Rocksmith. I must be one of the lucky ones.

I had the same issue when I was just getting started on Rocksmith, but you do get used to it. While I prefer Rockband's way of showing the chart, it's about the only thing I prefer at this point.

just a tip for all the people who dislike the mute bar (which is to say, everyone who has a squier).... depending on the song, you can get away without the mute bar by palm muting notes/chords on the E and A string that might cause overstrums. i only get overstrums on those strings, and palm muting has the same effect of dulling the string vibration as the mute has, but doesn't give the strings that stiff feel you get from the mute. i figured this method out while trying to play JWARCD on pro bass... the tapping parts are too difficult to play on the squier with the mute up (you practically have to mash the strings down on the frets to get them to register due to the extra resistance caused by the mute... you shouldn't have to mash the strings down to tap) but with the mute down the low E part constantly breaks streak.... so i started playing it with the mute down and palm muting the low E notes, and that worked out pretty well.

it's not ideal, you still won't get to hear those low notes/chords ring out like they're supposed to, and you can't use it on every song, like songs with open chords you're still gonna need the mute... but for songs with mostly power chords or single notes, or lots of play on the higher strings, it's another option.

No DLC announced for this week and the patch is delayed? That's a bit disappointing. At least I'll be able to rock out to some Hall and Oates.

I got a piece of e-mail from Ubi this morning that said "Free Rocksmith DLC Available Now!". It gave two links to click for it, one for "XBLA" and one for PSN. When I click the one for XBLA, it brings me to the page at Xbox.com for Rocksmith downloads, but there's nothing new there. Sorted by release date there are three Black Keys songs released on the 27th (I don't remember that being announced) and the free Christmas pack released on the 20th. Three other packs are marked as being FREE--"Rock Hits 2", "Rock Hits 70s" and "Rock Hits 1"; "Rock Hits 1" are the three bonus songs from launch (one of which I bought ala carte). The e-mail message doesn't say what the three songs are.

    Anyone know about this?
