I bought a Fender Strat.
My RB3 Squier will just collect dust now. I don't think the frets are repairable/replaceable. I don't know for sure if the detection is worse. I haven't played RB3 in a while.
I also wanted to note that the fret wear isn't just from bending. When you fret a string and strum it, the string vibrates against the fret and wears in a little divot over time. You can see it in the pic in the middle of the fret. Apparently this takes years to do any noticeable damage with a normal guitar. But if you use the RB3 Squier with the mute engaged, you won't get the vibrating string against the fret, so it should last longer.
