I am to the point where I have several scales memorized and can handle myself fairly well sightreading.

Also, insane video, I can only get Ricochet to about 35,000, which at the moment I am content with.
    Curious...
Did you start Rocksmith with no guitar skills at all? If not, when did you pick up? Are you saying you've reached the skill level you would of saw yourself in 4 years with practice?

Starting out myself. Finding my way around the neck is easy, but certain techniques still require a lot of practice.

The first question is tricky. I bought the Squier for RB3 and did play it a bit, however I never sank much more than about 5-6 hours into it. I bought Rocksmith the day after it came out after seeing a Youtube video demonstrating its dynamic difficulty. I figured I already had a guitar, and it was cheaper than buying a few lessons or some instructional DVDs.

It 'clicked' with me the first night when I saw very noticeable progress. I must've played it about 5 hours straight the first day because of how fun it was.

As far as my 4 year comment, I meant I am at a level of skill that I was hoping to be at with four years of practice under my belt. I am comfortably playing stuff I thought I would have needed much more time with a guitar to do. I think this clear progress is part of the reason I haven't given up. I constantly feel like I am getting better.

As mentioned before, I have all the achievements in the game, and I think using the minigames to practice various techniques helped me immensely (no, I did not use the pause technique).

The key to my learning has been tenacity. I found with RB3, I would lose interest quick when I found a section too difficult. The dynamic difficulty keeps me playing, but is constantly trying to get me to try harder. Not dogging on RB3, though; it was what got me interested in playing in the first place.

    Very good to know!

Although in regards to your last comment, have you tried going back to RB3 pro mode? If so, do you find it any easier?

I did try playing a few songs, and while I did have an easier time, I think Rocksmith's visuals that show movement up and down the fretboard help me out quite a bit. I also find it hard to discern chord shapes with RB3's method.

Edit: Also, being able to play without the mute really helps me, as I can hear why I am off when I am missing notes.

Makes sense, remember that RB1 had extra songs on the EU release possibly to make up for the delay.
We've ended on a sour note:

    Still...thank you for the music

There are only six bonus songs, right? I think I only have one left, because I have unlocked:

    -Jules
    -Ricochet
    -Boss
    -Space Ostrich
    -Six AM Salvation

And I think the last one is the Star Spangled Banner.

I was watching SentUAMessage on my xbox today and I think the answer to the question regarding Rocksmith could suggest that (Don't Fear) The Reaper, Barracuda and Space Oddity are on disc for the UK Version.

a bit of misinformation in their answer to that question.

September 14th is the release date for everywhere outside the US
The band's injunction didn't delay anything
Looks like they just used the preview video for whatever reason to show it had DLC
