They say that the option is best for people used to reading tab, but I don't see how it helps. The default arrangement is designed to be like looking through the neck of the guitar from behind. If it's at all intuitive to receive the notes that way I have to think that flipping the strings wouldn't help; it'd be like looking through the back of the neck of a left-hand string guitar as held by a right-handed person.
Does anyone here use that string flipping option?

I don't think that I'd call the Chili Peppers "pop-punk". More sort of generic "Rock".
Wikipedia has a list of band which whoever wrote and edited the article think of as pop-punk here.

Honestly kind of hope it is Offspring. Mostly nostalgia, but their songs aren't terribly difficult and I would consider them most likely in my comfortable playing range.
