By "manual speed controls" I'm taking it to mean that you can set a difficulty level without having the game automatically shift upward as you get it right? People of all abilities will love that. Sweet!

No it means you can go into riff repeater and adjust the speed manually instead of using accelerator (at least that's what I think)

Personally, I don't mind the way the game adjusts the difficulty level...most of the time. Once in a while I miss a note just before a chord and it drops the chord to a single note (on Combo runs), but that tells me to pay more attention! lol

Most people seem to believe the bass expansion is completely separate from the patch that includes the fixes, speed control, etc.

that is what i'm hoping it means. the riff repeater will become infinitely better and more usable with just that one change.

Anyway, though, can't wait for bass. The bass I have sucks, really need to upgrade, but it will do.
