playing bass on guitar is only needless if you have a bass. i'm guessing most people who have the game don't have a bass guitar and would still want to be able to play the bass arrangements. EDIT: sorry i thought you meant RS giving the ability to play bass with a regular guitar. i agree, playing the bass charts with a real bass is definitely preferable to playiing them on a guitar.

i agree with most of those UI criticisms and can think of plenty more too. one thing i kind of wish for would be a way to see at a glance my previous high scores and mastery levels for the songs in the library. i like being able to look at the RB3 library and tell which songs i've GS'ed, 5-starred, 4-starred, etc as well as my percentage, so i can tell which songs i need to work on. something like that in RS would be helpful.

I think you contradicted yourself there, because that is indeed what I meant.
I certainly appreciate the option to play the bass part using my regular guitar (since I don't have a bass), and I'll screw with it for a bit.

I guess I meant 'needless' in term of: I think the technique for playing bass is different enough from guitar that you'd lose the whole 'I can hear myself getting better at playing bass' thing. And that's one of the true joys of rocksmith for me.
So we'll see (it's still fun on rb3), but I think it'll feel a little empty.

i thought you meant needless as in "the game didn't need to include that option" which i disagreed with. but i agree that it's definitely not the same playing bass parts on guitar, and if you have a real bass to play with, there's nothing to be gained from using a regular guitar to play the bass charts.

Looks like they're gravitating toward a nicer store like what's in Rock Band. I still think they should make the store acknowledge when you already own a single song from a pack or a pack that contains a single song.

240 points? That is basically a whole song with pro on it. But...here you can only play one instrument on it. Hell I though HMX was greedy...
