More things not noted in the patch notes:

Bass DLC is 1.2 gig.
When you select bass it is a different career mode. After you select bass you then select 'normal' or 'emulated'. You can switch during tunings, for some reason. Is anyone really going to switch between a regular guitar and a bass during play?

You can swap between guitar and bass in the main menu.

There are two more alt tunings now - E flat and open G.

Saving is much faster. Win.

Store:
There aren't any filters, but instead of a price, there is a big check mark if you bought the song already.
It's ordered by song name. Decent for now - needs a sort when there are signifigantly more songs.

Songs bought in packs are not 'checked', although a song does indicate it's part of a pack.
It appears the last week's DLC are on the top - the 'featured items' section.


Songs:
Back is BACK.
I.e. when you enter a song, and exit, you are where you were prior to selecting a song in the first place.
I.e. same sorting, and the same song selected. WIN.

IN 'accelerator' you can select acceleration speed AND mastery. Nice.

In riff repeater, when a riff ends, you can select 'play again' and 'play full song'.
That might have been there before. I don't remember.

Destroyed my left hand's fingers playing bass last night. Tons of fun if only because I can play more of the song faster.

I noticed they changed how they alphabetize so (Don't Fear) The Reaper is no longer first for me, but filed under D. I was just joking with a friend how that song is the unofficial theme song for Rocksmith too.

So the patch is separate from the Bass DLC, right? I just want to confirm, even though I'm 99% sure that's already been stated...

It's separate. You have to buy the bass capability.

I'm poking around the rocksmith.com forums now, thought I'd post this:

Leveler bug:
1) Go into leveler
1b) set mastery level to something low, and pass it.
2) Moved mastery level to 100%
3) Failed once
4) Reset difficulty (apparently this means options -> set difficulty -> 'highest achieved'

This should set that section to 100%. You can use this to set any section to X% without forcing you to hit all the notes.

This is really really nice when you are are trying to level up a section and you only miss one or two notes. I like how in regular gameplay the sections (normally) will still level up a tiny bit if you get 90% of the notes or so. The leveler, requiring 100%, is just a bit too stiff imho.

I am temped to buy Rocksmith now that Bass is released (I have two bass guitars gathering dust in my room) but the soundtrack looks horrible (imo of course)... only if the DLC was the on-disc songs
