I know, it's just sorta strange, maybe a little ironic, that it's apparently a game marketed at kids, but is so popular with all ages and really competitive with the hardcore fans.

So, I've been looking into EV training a little more online, and just wanted to make sure I had it all straight. So, a pokemon can have 510 total EVs, with 255 max per stat. Meaning you could have 2 stats pure, or have one pure stat and the rest mixed. A stat goes up by one point for every four EVs. That's about it, I guess.

But one more question. I got a lv. 100 Jolteon from my friend. He used Action Replay to get infinite rare candies, and got him to 100 that way, meaning he has few to no EVs. If I do a bunch of battles with him, will he still get the stat upgrades from the EVs, even though he won't level up?

You can mix and match EVs however you want, you don't need one maxed.

252 is where you should end each stat, though. 252/252/4 if you're gonna cap two stats.
