Hmm, strange that I don't remember that. Melisandre only had one chapter, right? I remember it being one of my favorites in the book. Of course, I remember reading the book at a rapid pace to confirm the spoiler I had heard, the one concerning Jon's supposed death. Of course, I had heard that Jon unambiguously died, and was glad to see things might not be that cut and dry, considering I don't feel Jon's character arc is quite over (highlight for Dance With Dragons spoiler)

I'll have to look for that when I reread the book, whenever Martin releases Winds of Winter.

As well you should, otherwise you would be just a husk.

I knew they were involved when Davos remarked that the shadow monster looked just like Stannis. With only ten episodes a season, there is no time for subtlety. Hopefully that changes a bit, considering season 3 will only cover the first half of Storm.

Ah, has that been confirmed? Cool, if so. Storm demands two seasons.

Anyway, I started the fourth episode, and one little detail struck me... how is it common knowledge that Renly and Loras Tyrell are an item? Seems like that type of thing would be a closely guarded secret. It's one thing for Margaery Tyrell to figure it out, another for gossiping soldiers. Maybe that will be explained, dunno. Or maybe it truly is that transparent.

http://grrm.livejournal.com/276653.html (In regards to Season 3)

When secrets, whispers and propaganda are just as powerful as swords and shields, I can see how the Renly-Loras relationship spread all over the kingdoms.

...This series will always kill of their POV chars. That is all you have to know. The moment they kill Ty I will stop reading the books.

More POV characters are still alive than not.

Tyrion is one of the few characters I can see almost surely making it to the last book... surviving the series, in my opinion, probably not. You never know, though.

When I met Martin a couple of years back (right after book 3 had come out), I asked him whether Tyrion was doomed now because of what he did at the end of the book. He smiled and said "Well, he does keep losing parts of himself, doesn't he?". But yeah, I think he, Arya, Bran and Dany are probably the 'safest' characters in the books. Besides, death has much less of an impact now that there are several means of resurrection available (the red god, and wargs can survive the death of their body as well).

The reviews on the Game of throne game is coming out and as I feared it looks like it's going to be terrible.

Getting 4s/40s (out of 10/100) for the most part.

They say the story is very good, but the game itself is a horrible mess.

This is Lex' unfortunate lack of surprise.

I really don't know why fantasy authors keep going for complete unknowns to make their games for them. Robert Jordan made the same mistake before, and Brandon Sandorson seems to be doing it again with his Mistborn books.

    Sigh. So it goes.

If the story is good, as many have reported, I'll likely still play it at some point. And it got a 7 from gamespot... worth something, I suppose.

At least it worked for The Witcher (still wish I could read the later books in the series... don't speak Polish).
