Some people say that the Beatles helped America recover from the assasination of president John F. Kennedy. Do any of the forumities feel this way? Is there any proof beyond mere speculation?

No.

I do believe this. The matter of fact is that the Beatles really had good circumstances to become famous. It wasn't the only reason they became famous but I do believe it was a factor.
When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
Noooooo.

I'm one fan of the beatles that believes that they dont get close to as much credit as they deserve, but that doesn't mean I ignore reality. I think the assasination definitley had an impact on music sales just as it had an impact on sales of other stocks.
Who knows but if only the JFK assassination could factor in new DLC for the Beatles Rock Band maybe I would begin to care. I never thought when I bought game that would be it for DLC. I sadly took it for granted that all Beatles stuff would be released on DLC. Sad but true.
A "serious" response to the OP.......I have seen and/or read several things regarding the Fab Four's 1st Ed Sullivan Show appearence that have mentioned the national mood in the months following JFK's death. JFK had been dead less than 3 months when the Beatles arrived on Sullivan's show.
While it seems quaint by comparison, keep in mind that Americans - hell, much of the world - had never heard such a magic combo of songwriting, melody & harmonies in this new fangled "rock & roll" before. That Ed Sullivan episode was a bucketfull of sunshine dumped on an emotionally depressed United States.
Did the untimely death of Kennedy contribute/lead to the massive success of the Beatles? Probably not - they would have likely been as famous had Kennedy lived. But thier arrival in the States DID have an effect on those who had been mourning the loss of a young President, particularly young people.

It's very possible. Examine a few sources, and you'll probably have a good amount of evidence in both directions.
Some Bands that would make good DLC:
Brand New
Motion City Soundtrack
Gallows
Manchester Orchestra
The Get Up Kids
Saosin
The Academy Is...
