Just popping in here to say a couple quick things.

First off, we were supposed to have an official release today, but...yeah. In any case, "Supertronic Lazering" by Active Knowledge has its early link out. Buy at your own risk and all that stuff. I'll be much more eager in promoting this song when it's officially in the store; in the meantime, check out this video from PAX East 2011 of "Supertronic Lazering" being performed live. While you can't see me, I am indeed at that show (I'm somewhere to the right I think, OxygenStar was near me when he was recording this) and it was a blast; it was right after this performance that I asked Active Knowledge to put his stuff on RBN. Good times.

Second, we will NOT be participating in this month's RBN community thread. Why? Well...we've got no videos ready. We're working on a ton of awesome stuff, but we're not ready to show you yet. BUT I can drop extremely vague descriptions of what we're working on, and depending on how things go, we may end up not waiting for next month and just dropping announcements as they happen. Expect things like genre-defying music, something that we've done before and at the same time have never done before, a lot of vocals, something with very difficult keys, and maybe one or two wubs here and there.

Was I vague enough? I hope I was vague enough.

In any case, we'll drop announcements as soon as we're able to, so pay attention to this thread and/or follow/like/subscribe to us on Twitter/Facebook/YouTube for more good stuff! And remember, play something of ours in Blitz and record it and I'll add it to our YouTube playlist.

Thank you all for your support so far!

    New releases!

“Supertronic Lazering” by Active Knowledge is finally out! Grab your dose of NES chiptune today for 160 MSP! Later today I’ll try to get a video of the song in Blitz.

Speaking of “finally out,” next week will see the release of Shylo Elliott’s “Phantasmal Cruise,” in standard and 2x Bass Pedal forms. If you love keys solos, you’ll love this song. And it'll be only 80 MSP!

And for PS3 players, “This is the Album You’ve Been Waiting For” by brentalfloss is making the jump! It’ll be available this next Tuesday. (Europeans, you’ll have to wait another week to get it. Sorry about that.) Here’s an early preview of the song, and a gameplay video of it in Blitz!

    Enjoy!

Hey guys! Hope you’ve had a great Tuesday! We’ve had some releases come out today on both platforms!

For Xbox 360: He’s back! Electronic musician, RBN veteran and on-again off-again CTA author Shylo Elliott makes his return to the Network with “Phantasmal Cruise,” which is a TRIP. From his Bandcamp page:

“This song is named Phantasmal Cruise, because, while I've never done hallucinogens, I imagine this song sounds like some kind of psychedelic, mellow road trip, where things aren't wild, but they're definitely weird.”

Don’t be fooled by the demo. This song gets insane real quick. Keys players will love the mellow parts, as they get two solos to rock out to while the rest of the band charges up/recovers. Available in Standard and 2x Bass Pedal form for only 80 MSP each!

Also, something new I’ll be doing is I’ll play every new release as it comes out on Blitz and put it on my personal YouTube channel. That way you can see the track in Blitz and judge for yourself how fun it looks on there/how high of a score it’ll net you before buying. Note that I play with powerups though. I love powerups too much to not use them. I may not be able to play it in Blitz as soon as it comes out, so if you want to subscribe to my channel to catch the videos be my guest. Be warned though, that I may sometimes post something that isn’t Blitz or RB-related, seeing as it is my own channel and all.

For PS3: The one-and-only brentalfloss makes his PS3 debut with “This is the Album You’ve Been Waiting For,” the first track on his latest album “Bits of Me” and one of the most insane keys songs we’ve put out recently. Pulling influence from Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” and Elton John songs, this strong opener, written to advertise the album, is fun on every instrument and features the kind of silly vocals you’d expect from Brent. At only $0.99, it’s practically a steal, but this kind of steal won’t result in a pirate-speak version (un)fortunately.

No new announcements or releases this week, but I wanted to mention this.

Two years and a day ago, we released our very first song on the Rock Band Network. That song is "Light" by Shylo Elliott. "Light" was an experiment in many ways; it was Shylo's first complete song, and it was our first fully authored track. Seeing it in Rock Band form, and seeing it in the RBN store for the first time was a moment of pure joy for me. I didn't think anything could be better than successfully having that song added to the game.

Now here we are, two years and a day later, working on amazing projects behind the scenes, and having had the honor to work with many great artists, both well-known and unknown. We've also had many firsts (first chiptune song, first experimental noise track, first brony song to name a few), a couple charity tracks, and some of the hardest songs to ever hit the Rock Band platform. And we're only getting started.

I don't have any kind of giveaway or anything like that planned to commemorate. Instead, I'll just leave a Blitz gameplay video of our first ever release, "Light."

I just want to take the time to say thank you. Everyone who's bought, played and enjoyed our songs, or supported us in some way, and especially the authors/testers who make all this possible, both in and out of Chart Toppers, thank you all so much. You're the reason I keep this going.

Any chance of authoring the pirate version in the future?

You know, I never thought about that. Who knows, maybe. It'd certainly be interesting.
