Will we be getting more Andromeda? They came out with a new album in 2011 with some good songs on it, just wondering!

No one has guessed the song, and I doubt anyone will.

One further hint; my previous hint had nothing to do with the actual song (mostly), but has something to do with the person singing it and something they did. I was also extremely vague with that hint so you will be frustrated if you try to guess it. Just sayin'.

Has Chart Toppers tried contacting Replacer to get his songs in the game? I would love the chance to play and sing several of his songs, but most especially "A Pony like Me."
We haven't tried contacting Replacer, but that song does sound pretty sweet. We're open to getting it in the game if he is!

No clue. We didn't author the previous Andromeda songs. You want to talk to Rhythm Authors. We'd definitely love to see more Andromeda ourselves!

    Hey Paolo,

How many parts would it take for a 48+ Minute song to be charted for RBN?

You would have to be a madman to say yes to charting that track :P

Joking aside, I think I might have a couple tracks I'd like to add to the queue if you are interested (I even made a silly chiptune song). We'll talk soon!

5 parts. And you know better than to challenge my insanity.

A 5-part split with a total of 48 minutes would actually make for a good album on its own. Maybe throw in a few other tracks and you've got yourself a second album. Rush did that with 2112, and it worked for them.

I'm gonna have to set aside some time to listen to them all (except the chiptune one, which I already listened to and loved) but I have a feeling I'm more than up for adding those if you're game. You know how to reach me.

Haha, I should have known you would turn that down. I'll email you soon, I don't have the stems mixed down for that long song, so I'll have to do a lot of work on it before it's ready.

I think you mean "wouldn't" there? I don't remember saying no...

Anyways, while we don't have a release this week, I do have this cool thing that's going on.

If you haven't yet bought/somehow won a copy of the "Battle of Egos" EP by Winter Crescent, you have a chance to get a free digital copy! Winter Crescent is giving out Bandcamp download codes for the album, and to win, all you have to do is play "Battle of Egos Part II" (or the 2x Bass Pedal version) on any instrument on Expert, or on Rock Band Blitz, and post it as a video response to their music video for the song. They'll give you a free code.

As for how many codes there are? The band has 100 to give out. 100. So you're pretty much guaranteed to get it. It's an amazing album, so if you don't have it yet, go post a video and get your copy!

Damn my not proofing my posts before submitting them! Haha, yeah I mean't wouldn't.

I already bought all the Battle of Ego's songs, but everyone should definitely enter that contest because those songs are awesome!

Paolo I'll let you know when I have those files ready, then hopefully we can make Rock Band Network magic happen.

Has anyone ever released a 5 part 48+ minute song? Also how long would that take? The idea of merely exporting the file into separate stems and midi files seems daunting to me, I don't even want to think of the task of charting them.

However it would be worth it, because it looks like we will never get Thick as a Brick as official DLC :P.

(Not that I'm saying my track is anywhere near as good as the near perfect Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick album, I'm just saying that any 40+ minute track would be epic!)

No one's done that, but a two-part 18-minute song has been done (Andromeda's Veil of Illumination) so it's feasible. As for authoring, it sounds like a 48 minute song would be a hell of a task (and don't get me wrong, it would be) but I'd liken it to authoring a full album, which we've done a few times already and will continue to do. If you end up grouping that song and a few others together under an album name a la 2112, it'll just be another album we author. (You and I both know you'd only have to say the word and we'd get that second album into the game for you.)

In any case, we'll talk more over email.
